A valve member of a pressure relief valve has a shaft portion, a pressure receiving portion, and a guide portion, wherein the valve member is axially movable in a fuel return passage. When a forward end of the shaft portion is seated on a valve seta, the fuel return passage is closed, while the shaft portion is separated from the valve seat the fuel return passage is opened. A notched portion is formed at an outer wall of the guide portion to thereby form an outer-surface passage. A fuel inlet port is formed in the valve member for communicating a fuel inlet chamber to the fuel return passage at a downstream side of the valve member.

Pressure relief valve and high pressure pump with such valve

A volume chamber is formed by a valve member, an inner peripheral wall of a tubular portion and a bottom portion of a stopper when the valve member is engaged with tubular portion. A communication passage communicates between the volume chamber and one of an intermediate passage of a valve body and a tertiary passage of the stopper. The communication passage is formed at a location, which is spaced from a contact surface between the tubular portion and the valve member by a first predetermined distance and is also spaced from a contact surface between the bottom portion and the first urging member by a second predetermined distance.

High pressure pump

A holder device has an elastic member and contact members. The elastic member is curved to extend approximately along a major arc of curvature and is elastically deformable to change a radius of curvature thereof. The contact members are circularly arranged along an inner circumferential side or an outer circumferential side of the elastic member so that each of the contact members is opposed to the elastic member in a radial direction of the elastic member. Each of the contact members has a sidewall that is opposed to the elastic member in the radial direction and is curved along an arc of curvature. A radius of curvature of the sidewall is shorter than the radius of curvature of the elastic member in its natural state.

Holder device and high-pressure pump having the same

A hydraulic pump includes a housing, a seat portion, and a valve element. The housing has a compression chamber and a fluid passage. The seat portion is provided midway through the fluid passage. The valve element is located between the compression chamber and the fluid passage. The valve element is a closed-end cylindrical member having a bottom portion, a cylindrical portion, and an opening end arranged in this order. The cylindrical portion is located farther away from the seat portion than the bottom portion. The valve element is seated to the seat portion at the bottom portion. A stopper substantially closes the opening end when making contact with the opening end to regulate movement of the valve element.

Hydraulic pump

A coil is located radially outside of a pipe. An inner connector is located radially inside of the pipe. A moving core is located radially inside of the pipe and opposed to the inner connector. A housing surrounds both an outer circumferential periphery of the coil and one axial end of the coil. A cover surrounds an other axial end of the coil. An outer connector leads fuel into the pipe. The pipe and the cover are integrally formed and one single component as a with-cover pipe member. The inner connector and the outer connector are integrally formed and an other single component as a connector member. The connector member is partially inserted in the axial direction radially inside the pipe of the with-cover pipe member.

Fuel injection valve

In a fuel injection pump, a tappet is provided on an end thereof on a side of a cam ring with a hollow. Force acting on the tappet from a plunger due to fuel pressure is dispersed to a sliding contact surface outside the hollow so that contact face pressure between the tappet and the cam ring is smaller. As the fuel pressure becomes higher, larger resilient deformation of the tappet causes a diameter of the hollow smaller so that the tappet comes in flat slidable contact with the cam ring, resulting in preventing the contact portion between the tappet and the cam ring from being seized with frictional heat.

Fuel injection pump

An oil supply means is provided to supply the center portion of a rotating part of an Oldham coupling with oil. The oil spreads from the center of rotation to the outside of the Oldham coupling and makes it possible to prevent the Oldham coupling from wearing. A recess is also provided to direct the oil supplied from an engine to the inward portion of the Oldham coupling. Accordingly, the oil is supplied all over an Oldham projection so that it is possible to prevent the frictional wearing of the Oldham projection disposed inside the Oldham coupling.

Drive shaft coupling device

In a flow amount control device, column shaped valve element is slidably disposed in a cylindrical inner circumferential wall of a valve body. The valve element is provided along an outer circumference thereof with two ring shaped grooves. Fuel stored in the ring shaped grooves serves to form film of oil for lubrication in a sliding clearance between the valve element and the valve body so that frictional resistance therebetween is smaller and the valve element slides smoothly on the valve body. Accordingly, the device can control flow amount of fuel accurately.

Flow amount control device

A camshaft has a cam having a circular profile. A cam-ring is rotatably arranged on a radial outside of the cam. The cam-ring orbits around the cam. The cam-ring has a metal bush on an inner surface thereon. The cam-ring rotates relative to the cam, but is prevented from a rotation itself. The cam has a groove inclined with respect to a rotating axis of the cam. The groove has openings on both axial ends of the cam. The groove introduces fuel as a lubricant into a gap between the cam and the metal bush. The fuel introduced into the gap improves a lubricity and prevents a sticking.

A fuel injection pump is provided which stops fuel discharge when a movable member for pressurizing the fuel is lifted beyond top dead center, thereby leaving a cam ring. The pump prevents the movable member from colliding with the cam ring and damaging the members of the pump. The movable member has a plunger. An outer diameter d of one portion of the plunger has a diameter smaller than an inner diameter D of an inner fitting surface of a cylinder in which the plunger is positioned. An outer diameter D of a different portion of the plunger is somewhat larger than the inner diameter D of the inner fitting surface of the cylinder. When a drive shaft overruns, the speed of an orbital movement of the cam. ring and a speed of reciprocating movements of the movable member increases. This causes an inertial force of the movable member in the lifting direction thereof to exceed an urging force of a spring. As such, the plunger is sometimes lifted beyond a top dead center. In such a case, the larger diameter portions press fit into the smaller inner fitting surface, and the reciprocating movements of the movable member stop.

In order to prevent a damage on a component forming a pressure feed fuel passage and to reduce a fuel injection pump in size and weight, the pressure feed fuel passage having fuel discharge passage, fuel chamber and accommodation hole formed in respective cylinder heads is formed straightly in respective cylinder heads, and has communication port for communicating with fuel pressure chamber and fuel outlet which has an opening at an outer peripheral wall of the cylinder heads. Fuel pressurized in fuel pressure chamber at the cylinder head side is introduced into fuel chamber of cylinder head via fuel passage and fuel lines. Fuel pressurized in both fuel pressure chambers is merged at fuel chamber of cylinder head, and is supplied to a common-rail via fuel passage.
