An ejection mechanism for a connector is disclosed. The connector has a housing that carries contacts, a frame attached to the housing for guiding insertion and removal of a card, and a pivot arm disposed in the housing that ejects the card toward a removal side by pivoting. The ejection mechanism has a cover connected to the frame, a push bar having a push button. The ejection mechanism also has a cam groove plate with a cam groove connected to the cover. The ejection mechanism also has a cam pin connected to the push bar and received within the cam groove. The ejection mechanism also has a push plate having a restricting hole that receives the cam pin and the push plate is configured to pivot the pivot arm in reaction to movement of the push button.

Ejection mechanism and card connector

A PC card connector assembly which is capable of performing highly secure card connections, enables simultaneous use of a smart card, and is interchangeable with existing PC card connector assemblies. The PC card connector assembly includes an insulative housing having an opening, which is of dimensions that enable insertion of a plurality of PC cards. A planar smart card connecting unit partitions the opening in the vertical direction to form first and second cavities. The first cavity is designated as a PC card cavity, and the second cavity is designated as a smart card cavity. A plurality of first contacts are provided in the smart card connecting unit, for electrically contacting electrodes of the smart card received within the second cavity, while connected to second contacts.

PC card connector assembly

A card connector has a first receiving slot for receiving a first card and a second receiving slot for receiving a second card having a thickness smaller than the first card. A stopper member is supported in the first receiving slot by a supporting shaft and pivots between a first position where the stopper member blocks the first receiving slot to prevent advancement of the first or second card and a second position where the first receiving slot is unblocked. A cam member is pivotally supported in the card receiving slot by a supporting shaft arranged perpendicular to the supporting shaft of the stopper member and has a claw that abuts the stopper member to prevent the stopper member from pivoting to the second position. The cam member has a cam surface that releases the claw from the stopper member when the cam surface is cam-engaged by the first card.

Card connector

A card connector assembly having a slot for inserting a card that has raised portions and a connector that receives the card that is inserted into the slot. An anti-dust shutter that pivots into an interior of the slot when the card is inserted. The anti-dust shutter having an interference avoiding means in the form of a cut-out or a projection that enables the card to be withdrawn from the slot without interference from the raised portions. The card connector assembly making it possible to withdraw cards having raised portions, such as PC cards that handle card busses, from the card connector assembly without interference with the anti-dust shutter.

Card connector assembly

A card connector defining one card-accommodating slot adapted to accommodate a thin card, such as a smart card, and another card-accommodating slot adapted to accommodate a thick card, such as an IC card. The insertion of thin cards completely into the card-accommodating slot which accommodates thick cards is prevented by a member which pivots into the thick card-accommodating slot. The member includes a cam surface adapted to be contacted by a thick card upon insertion into the thick card-accommodating slot and a groove adapted to accommodate a thin card upon insertion into the thick card-accommodating slot. The member is pivotally mounted by a shaft to a card guiding arm defining the thick card-accommodating slot.

A compact card connector is equipped with an efficient stop means for an ejection member and that affords easy mounting of the ejection member which serves as a card-ejecting means. The card connector has an ejection member (,) that is capable of pivoting within a connector (,) in order to eject a card. The pivoting of the ejection member (,) is stopped by a supporting member (,) that is fixedly mounted to the connector (,). Supporting members (,), along with a plate member (,), constitutes a support means for an FPC (,).

A brake mechanism including a brake member, an urging force switching member pivotable and movable among a plurality of specified positions, and a single elastic member arranged between the brake member and the urging force switching member. By switching one of the action positions of the urging force switching member to another, a different urging force is applied to the brake member from the single elastic member according to the action positions. A drive and control member separately performs a switch-over between the pressing position and the releasing position of the brake member and a switch-over of one of the action positions of the urging force switching member to another.

A tape loading mechanism for use in a magnetic recording and reproducing apparatus including a rotary head comprises: a transmission gear assembly engaging a drive gear rotated by a loading motor; loading gears located at opposite sides of the rotary head one of which is directly connected to the transmission gear assembly whereas the other is connected same via a connection gear assembly; a pair of loading arms responsive to the loading gears to move a pair of loading blocks back and forth; and a pinch roller arm connected to one of the transmission gear assembly, loading gears and connection gear assembly to move a pinch roller back and forth.

A dustproof door mechanism includes a dustproof door pivotably supported by a shaft and normally biased by a spring to its closed position, a door opening cam integrally formed with a loading gear rotatable in opposite directions to drive a cassette loading mechanism, and a door opening link engaging the dustproof door and pivoted by the door opening cam in a direction for opening the door.

A pinch roller driving mechanism used in a magnetic recording and reproducing apparatus including a rotary head comprises: a pinch roller arm driving member provided on a pinch roller pull-out gear to rotate in the same direction as the gear; a pivotable pinch roller arm connected to the pinch roller arm driving member; and a pinch roller link having one end pivotably linked to one end of the pinch roller arm and the other end pivotably linked to a pinch roller block which supports a pinch roller and moves along a guide groove to bring the pinch roller into close contact with a capstan shaft.

An R-DAT cassette loading mechanism comprises a reversible motor; a rotary member drivingly connected to the motor and having a driving pin formed at a central position of its lateral surface; a loading plate having first and second cam portions and pulled by the driving pin to reciprocally slide on a straight line; a guide link pivotably supported on a fixed member and rotated vertically by the first cam portion; a cassette holder pivotably supported on a free end portion of the guide link; a cassette guide having a contact portion accepting a front end portion of a cassette and slidably movable between a cassette sucking position and a cassette ejecting position; and a loading link pivotably supported on a fixed member and rotated on a horizontal plane by the second cam portion to slidably move the cassette guide.

A pinch roller driving mechanism includes a second cam gear linked with a first cam gear which drives a loading block, and a pinch roller is driven by a pinch roller driving arm engaged with a grooved cam of the second cam gear. Owing to this construction, the timing of movement of the pinch roller can be deviated from that of the loading block, so that the path of movement of the pinch roller can be superposed on the path of movement of the loading blocks, what can make the construction smaller.

An intermittent gear mechanism includes two intermittent gears mounted at opposite sides of a driving gear driven by a motor. One of the intermittent gears is normally held by a holding member at a position disengaged from the driving gear while the other intermittent gear engages the driving gear. When the latter intermittent gear is driven, the former intermittent gear is brought into engagement with the driving gear by a simple initial driving assembly.

A mode switching over gear mechanism for reel according to this invention is characterized in that a reel brake is disposed at the outside of the fast forward gear and the rewinding gear, respectively; a preload brake is disposed at the inside of the fast forward gear and the rewinding gear, respectively; and the control of the preload brake is effected by the same member as the control of the take-up gear effecting the mode switching over at the play, which member is different from the member for the control of the reel brake. Owing to this construction, since the preload brake is released at the same time as the mode switching over by the engagement of the take-up gear, no infructuous load is applied thereto.

An automatic tape-pack loading mechanism adopted in a tape player, in which a rack portion is formed on a tape-pack holder which serves to receive a tape pack and drop it into the playing position, in which a motor-driven rotating piece is so provided as to be engaged with, and disengaged from, a rotary member engaged with said rack portion, and in which a lock link is disposed on a member supporting said rotary member to change the relation from engagement to disengagement or vice versa between said rotary member and rotating piece.
