A connection device attached to an outlet end of a pipe of pressurized fluid such as compressed air and used for connecting the pipe to a supply inlet of a utilization device, having an automatically operated valve built therein and arranged to be opened by only pressing it against the inlet of the utilization device to supply the pressurized fluid to the utilization device and closed by only separating it from the inlet of the utilization device to shut off any leakage of the fluid. In the device of this invention, the structure and arrangement of the automatic valve are improved for enabling size reduction of the device. Accordingly, the device of this invention is especially suitable in the case where a plurality of devices are arranged on a single base member and plural pipes connected thereto are automatically connected to and disconnected from corresponding plural utilization devices at the same time.

Pipe connection device

A pipe coupling consisting of male and female elements for connecting and disconnecting a hydraulic or pneumatic piping used for industrial machinery. Each coupling element includes a check valve therein which is actuated by connecting and disconnecting operation to automatically open the passageway of the coupling when it is connected and to automatically close it when it is disconnected. The inventive pipe coupling is designed for use with a conventional automatic connecting and disconnecting device such as automatic coupling device for large scaled industrial machinery.

Pipe coupling used with automatic connecting and disconnecting device

A coupling device includes a first coupling section having a large bore, a small bore, and a valve seat between the large and small bores; a second coupling section having a second bore opening at a contact surface which is opposed to the first coupling section; a valve having a valve head normally resting on the valve seat and a tubular body snugly fitted in the small bore and having an axial opening with a mouth at an end and a plurality of radial openings at the other end; a drain passage provided along the small bore and having an end opening at a bottom of the large bore and the other end opening at a lower side of the first coupling section; and a drain valve provided in the drain passage and having a cylindrical hole intersecting the drain passage and a piston snugly fitted in the cylindrical hole and having a circumferential channel for opening the drain passage and a land portion for closing the drain passage.

Coupling device

A flow passage coupling unit is provided for connection and disconnection of pipings e.g. on a tooling die exchanger of a press or a former machine, in which both the cylindrical body and the valve head of a slide valve actuated for communication and discommunication between flow paths are slidably fitted into the small and large diameter bores of a main body respectively which is designated as a housing for the slide valve, so that the sliding distance of the slide valve can be determined by summing up of the sliding lengths of their respective small and large diameter bores. Accordingly, the entire length of the main body is minimized and thus, the flow passage coupling unit will become compact in size while assuring consistent action in coupling the flow passages. Also, the flow passage coupling unit is further reduced in the overall size by improviding both the sealing arrangement in the sliding regions and the opening arrangement in the cylindrical body.

Flow passage coupling unit

A flow passage coupling unit (1) for flow passages (2, 4) of movable and fixed members (3, 5), which includes a cylindrical body (6) secured to the movable member and having a large bore (10) communicating with the flow passage, a small bore (11) and a value seat (12) formed between the large and small bores; a sliding valve (7) having a cylindrical sliding surface (7a) which slidably fits in the small bore and has an axial passage (14), a valve head (17) movable within the large bore, and a through-hole (16) provided through the cylindrical sliding surface adjacent the valve head; a coil spring (13) provided within the large bore for biasing the valve head against the valve seat so that communication between the large bore and the axial passage is normally cut off; and the valve seat (12) made in a plane which is perpendicular to an axis of the sliding valve.

A lock system for a pipe joiner device is disclosed having a fixed-side connector block provided with at least a connector and a moving-side connector block provided with another connector for engagement with and disengagement from the foregoing connector, in which as the piston rod of a single actuator cylinder advances forward, lock levers mounted to the moving-side connector block moves forward into a connection opening formed in the fixed-side connector block and also, the positional relation between pin members fixedly mounted on the lock levers and L-shaped guide slots provided in a dog which is supported by the forward end of the piston rod for forward and backward movement varies thus to extend toggle links joined between the front ends of the lock levers and the forward end of the piston rod, so that hook portions formed on the front ends of their respective lock levers can engage with a connecting opening end area of the fixed-side connector block to join the moving-side connector block with the fixed-side connector block closely and simultaneously, to connect the connectors on both sides to each other for communication of pipings joined to the connectors. In reverse manner, when the piston rod is moved backward from the position of engagement, the lock levers retract from the connection opening in the fixed-side connector block to separate the moving-side connector block from the fixed-side connector block.

Lock unit for a fluid coupling apparatus

A pipe coupling consisting of a male and female elements for connecting and disconnecting a hydraulic or pneumatic piping used for industrial machinery.
