A shelf device including a plurality of shelves is prepared. A quadrangular plate-shaped cell unit can be placed on each of the selves. A plurality of cell units is placed such that the cell units are disposed on respective shelves. The cell unit is disposed on the shelf such that the second part is placed between the recessed portions. The cell units are disposed on the shelves such that corresponding recessed portions of the cell units overlap each other. A pair of jigs extending in a first direction is placed such that the jigs are disposed inside the recessed portions of the cell units. The shelf device is caused to retreat from the cell units and the jigs, and relative positions of the cell units are changed along the jigs so that the cell units make contact with each other.

Manufacturing method for fuel cell including a step of preparing a shelf device

There is provided an inspection method for a fuel cell or a fuel cell stack that ensures performing a leakage inspection minutely in a shorter time compared with the conventional inspection. The inspection method includes an enclosing step, an external leakage inspection step, and a communication leakage inspection step. The enclosing step encloses a first gas passage, a second gas passage, and a refrigerant passage in the fuel cell or the fuel cell stack to form three sections. The three sections are a first section, a second section, and a third section independent of one another. The external leakage inspection step simultaneously supplies an inspection gas to two or more sections among the three sections for pressure boosting to perform an inspection for leakage of the inspection gas from the two or more sections after boosting pressures to an outside. The communication leakage inspection step decompresses one section among the two or more sections after boosting the pressures and maintains a pressure of another one section or pressures of other two sections to perform an inspection for leakage of the inspection gas from the pressure-maintained one section or two sections to the decompressed one section.

Inspection device and inspection method

A method of manufacturing a fuel cell including a membrane electrode assembly and a resin frame includes, in a membrane electrode assembly sheet that is used for acquiring the membrane electrode assembly, and in which a porous layer including at least a catalytic electrode layer is disposed on at least one surface of an electrolyte membrane, applying a sealing agent onto the porous layer in a region including a part forming an outer periphery of the membrane electrode assembly to seal a pore of the porous layer; acquiring a stack member including the membrane electrode assembly by cutting the membrane electrode assembly sheet in the region; and bonding the resin frame to a part of the porous layer in the stack member where the sealing agent is applied, using an adhesive.

Fuel cell and method of manufacturing same

This invention adopts plasma-enhanced chemical vapor deposition using the apparatus including a chamber, a pair of rotary electrode reels including a feed-out reel and a take-up reel, a plasma source, a material gas supplier, and an exhaust unit, and includes applying a negative voltage applied to the rotary electrode reels from the plasma source while a conductive substrate is fed-out from the feed-out reel and is wound on the take-up reel so that the entire surface of the substrate portion between reels contacts the material gas, whereby plasma sheath is formed along the surface of the substrate portion between reels, and the material gas is activated in the plasma sheath and thus contacts the surface of the substrate, thus forming the film on the surface of the substrate.

Method and apparatus for forming film

A gas separator for a fuel cell has a first plate that forms one face; a second plate that forms the other face of the gas separator; and a third plate located between the first plate and the second plate. The third plate has a cooling medium flow path forming hole defining a cooling medium flow path between the first plate and the second plate and is provided in at least part of an area overlapping an electrolyte layer and electrode layers in lamination. A flow rate regulator is provided in the cooling medium flow path and regulates a flow rate to have a higher flow rate during power generation of the fuel cell. A temperature distribution is determined according to an operating condition of the fuel cell or an environment surrounding the fuel cell.
