A manufacturing apparatus of a fiber-reinforced resin strand including spreaders that spread a reinforcing fiber bundle and are provided inside a crosshead to which a molten resin material is supplied continuously from an extruding machine, twisting rollers provided at a downstream position from an exit nozzle of the crosshead and that pultrude a fiber-reinforced resin strand formed of a resin-impregnated fiber bundle from the exit nozzle while imparting twists thereto, and twist retaining rollers provided at a downstream position from the twisting rollers and that retain twists of the fiber-reinforced resin strand. The twisting rollers and the twist retaining rollers are made of metal with asperities being formed on the surface thereof. The manufacturing apparatus can achieve excellent durability and is capable of manufacturing a fiber-reinforced resin strand at a high production rate without causing slipping.

A manufacturing apparatus of a fiber-reinforced resin strand including a roller offset angle adjusting device which can easily adjust roller offset angles of a pair of twisting rollers for twisting a fiber-reinforced resin strand, the device being simple in structure. An offset angle of a first twisting roller can be adjusted by only rotating a first shaft roller support member in the roller offset angle adjusting device of the manufacturing apparatus of a fiber-reinforced resin strand around the axis of a first driving shaft which is orthogonal to a first roller support shaft of the first twisting roller. Likewise, an offset angle of a second twisting roller can be adjusted by only rotating a second shaft roller support member around the axis of a second driving shaft which is orthogonal to a second roller support shaft of the second twisting roller.

A heating and extruding method for a bulk preform of a fiber reinforced composite material, including a stabbing machine for forming an unpenetrated hole in the bulk preform, a heating machine connected to the stabbing machine for heating the bulk preform by a nitrogen gas, and an extruding machine connected to the heating machine for heating and compressing the bulk preform heated by the heating machine to discharge a predetermined amount of the bulk preform, wherein at least the heating machine to the extruding machine has a sealing structure sealing a nitrogen gas therein. An extruding lip of the extruding machine has a thickness restriction plate and a width restriction plate for respectively adjusting an extrusion thickness and an extrusion width of the melted composite material. Accordingly, oxidation and degradation of resin composing the fiber reinforced composite material can be prevented. Further, a shape of the melted composite material to be extruded can be suited to a desired shape of a molded part to be obtained.

This invention relates to a joint for risers, and particularly to a telescopic joint suitable for expandably connecting composite-pipe type riser pipes provided internally with tubing pipes. Its structural features reside in that connectors adapted to connect risers in up-and-down relationship are slidably engaged with each other and air cylinders capable of cancelling volume changes of the engaged portions, which volume changes occur due to expansion and contraction movements of the connectors, are communicated to the spacing of the engaged portions, and hydraulic cylinders adapted to cancel volume changes of the engaged portions of an internally-threaded nose portion and an externally-threaded nose portion, which engaged portions serve to communicate the upper and lower tubing pipes to each other, is communicated with the spacing of the engaged portions of the nose portions.

An apparatus wherein liquid may be continuously fed at a constant small rate includes a liquid reservoir displaceable up and down and provided at a lower portion thereof with a liquid delivery orifice block, a small liquid dropping tank displaceably supported for up and down movement and provided with a liquid dropping chute and an intake nozzle communicating with the orifice block and disposed at a location lower than the location where the liquid dropping chute is attached to the small liquid dropping tank, a photoelectric droplet counting mechanism provided facing a dropping portion of the dropping chute, and a reservoir raising/lowering mechanism and a tank raising/lowering mechanism adapted respectively to either raise or lower the liquid reservoir and dropping tank in accordance with signals from the counting mechanism. A continuous mixing machine for mixing a material fed at one end and discharging the mixed material through a discharge orifice at another end in a continuous sequence which includes a plurality of rotors each provided with mixing blade members, a mixing chamber encircling the plurality of rotors and a throttle member defining a part of the mixing chamber at a position facing the blade members and adapted to be moved toward and away from the rotors so as to vary the space within the mixing chamber. In a modified machine, the mixing chamber is provided with a vent hole at a position intermediate the throttle member and discharge orifice.
