Provided is a method of molding, by using a mold, a component including a metal plate and a thermoplastic resin containing a thermoplastic resin arranged on a surface on one side of the metal plate, the mold including at least a movable mold and a fixed mold including a support portion. Specifically, the molding method includes: an arranging step of arranging a premolded metal plate within the mold; a fixing step of fixing the metal plate by pressing the metal plate against the movable mold with use of the support portion; and a molding step including forming a cavity between the fixed mold and the metal plate by closing the mold, bringing the thermoplastic resin into close contact with the metal plate, and forming an exposed portion by exposing the metal plate out of the softened thermoplastic resin with use of the support portion. With this, without leakage of the thermoplastic resin, a joint region to a metal surface of another component can be reliably secured.

Method of forming component using metal-resin composite and mold for forming said component

Provided is a composite (A) including a metal plate (B) and a reinforcing member (C) that is made of a resin. The metal plate (B) includes a joint portion () that is continuous with one end of a body portion (), a hole that is formed through the body portion () in a thickness direction of the body portion () in the proximity of the joint portion (), and a guide portion provided around the hole. The reinforcing member (C) continuously includes a main portion (), a coupling portion () formed in the hole (), and a locking portion () that is held in close contact with a surface on another side of the body portion (). The guide portion () is at least one of a protruding portion provided on at least one of a rear side and a lateral side relative to the hole () in a direction from the body portion () to the joint portion (), and a recessed portion extended from a front side relative to the hole () to the hole () in the direction from the body portion to the joint portion. In insert molding of the composite (A), a molten resin is introduced preferentially into the hole (). With this, the joint portion () is formed reliably in good condition free from adhesion of the resin.

Composite

A method for producing carbon fiber reinforced resin molded article of the present invention includes press-molding a mixture-made body including carbon fiber and thermoplastic resin to produce the article that is composed of CFRP. The method further includes perforating pores into the mixture-made body, before press-molding mentioned above. As, in perforating, at least the pores are formed so as to penetrate through a hardened part of a surface of the mixture-made body, the article made of the CFRP that does not have poor appearance, such as whitening or marble pattern, can be produced.

A vehicle body structure includes a resin floor part provided with a flange portion bent toward an upper side or a lower side at an end in a vehicle width direction, and a metal side sill part joined to the flange portion of the floor part. The side sill part includes a rim portion, a peak portion, and intermediate portions that link the rim portion to the peak portion. The peak portion and the intermediate portions form a protruding portion projecting from the rim portion toward the floor part. The flange portion of the floor part is joined to the peak portion of the protruding portion.

A carbon fiber-reinforced resin molded body of the present invention derives from kneaded materials of a thermoplastic resin and a carbon fiber and includes at least a three-dimensional complex shaped region and a substantially flat plate-shaped region arranged in a profile direction. Fluidity of the kneaded materials at predetermined temperature is such that fluidity of the kneaded material forming the substantially flat plate-shaped region is lower than fluidity of the kneaded material forming the three-dimensional complex shaped region, which makes it unlikely to cause defects in ribs, posses, and other portions. Thus, a carbon fiber-reinforced resin molded body with low cost and high strength can be provided.

There is provided a polycarbonate resin composition containing aluminum oxide nanoparticles and being capable of showing good moldability and retention heat stability and combining high transparency and dimensional stability with excellent mechanical properties. The polycarbonate resin composition is characterized by containing an organic acid and aluminum oxide and in that: the resin composition has a melt mass flow rate of 11 g/10 min or higher as measured according to JIS K 7210 under the conditions of a temperature of 280&#xb0; C., a nominal load of 2.16 Kg and a nozzle dimension L/D of 8/2; and a No. 2 dumbbell-shaped specimen according to JIS K 7113 formed by heat-press molding the resin composition into a film of 0.2 mm in thickness and cutting the film has a breaking stress of 8 MPa or higher as measured under the conditions of a temperature of 23&#xb0; C., a humidity of 50% RH and a tensile rate of 50 mm/min. The organic acid is preferably an organic sulfonic acid having a carbon number of 8 or greater, more preferably the one containing an aromatic ring in the molecule.

Polycarbonate resin composition and process for producing the same

A resinous tube which has a low permeability for alcohol-contained fuel in addition to usual gasoline and is sufficiently high in adhesiveness between a barrier layer (permeation-interrupting layer) and a protecting layer (layer covering the permeation-interrupting layer), is easy in reuse of marginal materials and the like, and is a low cost material arrangement is furnished. This resinous tube is formed by laminating pipe-shaped resin layers, in which a main component of at least one layer of layers constituting the tube is a resin such as PBT, PBN, PET, PEN or the like, and a main component of a layer other than the above-mentioned layer is PBT copolymer. The PBT copolymer contains an acid component and a glycol component.

A fuel tank connector for connecting a fuel tank and a pipe in communicating fashion includes a gas barrier member made of a synthetic resin and having a gas barrier property. The gas barrier member includes a tubular portion and a flanged portion provided on a peripheral side of the tubular portion, which extends beyond an opening of the fuel tank. The gas barrier member is made of a liquid crystal polymer, aromatic polyamide, a blended polymer of an ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer and high-density polyethylene, a blended polymer of polyamide and polyethylene, or a blended polymer of polyamide and high-density polyethylene.

A fuel hose for an automotive vehicle has an end section to which a connection-partner member is to be fitted. The fuel hose comprises an innermost layer formed of rubber or synthetic resin. The innermost layer has an inner surface defining an opening through which fuel flows and has an end section corresponding to the end section of the fuel hose. An outer layer is formed outside the innermost layer and formed of a material lower in fuel permeability coefficient than the innermost layer. Additionally, an end covering material is formed covering a surface region of the innermost layer which surface region includes the inner surface at a part extending from a sealing position to an end face of the innermost layer and the end face of the innermost layer. The end covering material is lower in fuel permeability coefficient than the innermost layer.

Fuel hose and producing method therefor

A welded structure constituted of a fuel filling container having an opening, and a welded part including a pipe-shaped section whose one end is disposed in the opening of the fuel filling container. A welding section is fixedly disposed around the outer periphery of the pipe-shaped section. The welding section is welded through a welding surface to the outer surface of the fuel filling container. In the welded structure, the welding section of the welded part includes a welding strength providing layer and a fuel permeation resistance layer which are coaxial with the pipe-shaped section of the welded part and radially laminated to define the annular welding surface. Additionally, at least an inner peripheral surface portion of the pipe-shaped section and an outer peripheral surface portion of the other end portion of the pipe-shaped section are formed of a fuel permeation resisting material.

Welded structure of fuel filling container and welded part, and welding method therefor

A tubular resin connection structure is disclosed that includes a resin connector and a resin tube. The resin tube is fixedly coupled to one of the first and second ends of the resin connector in a fluid-tight manner by a weld disposed between the resin connector and the resin tube. Preferably, one end of the resin tube is inserted into a molding die and a portion of the resin connector is welded to the resin tube by overmolding the resin of the resin connector during injection molding. In other words, the weld between the resin connector and the resin tube is formed overmolding a resin of the resin connector over the resin tube to simultaneously mold the resin connector and form the weld between the resin connector and the resin tube.

A sound-absorbing duct structure for an intake system of an automotive internal combustion engine. The sound-absorbing duct structure comprises a duct defining thereinside a gas passage. A part of the duct is formed with a plurality of small holes. An expanded duct section is formed around the part of the duct. The expanded duct section defines therein an inside space which is in communication with the gas passage through the small holes. The inside space has a cross-sectional area larger than that of the gas passage. A sound-absorbing section is disposed in at least a part of the inside space of the first expanded duct section. The sound absorbing section includes a piezoelectric material exhibiting a piezoelectric effect, and an electrically conductive material in contact with the piezoelectric material.

The invention relates to a fibrous acoustical material for reducing noise transmission. This fibrous acoustical material comprises first, second and third fibers. The first fiber has a first fineness of 1.5-20 deniers and a first softening point. The second fiber has a second fineness of 1.5-15 deniers. At least a surface of the second fiber has a second softening point which is at least 30&deg; C. lower than the first softening point. The third fiber has a third fineness of 1.5-15 deniers. At least a surface of the third fiber has a third softening point which is lower than the second softening point and at least 80&deg; C. lower than the first softening point. The first, second and third fibers are respectively in amounts of 10-90 wt %, 5-85 wt % and 5-85 wt %, based on a total weight of the first, second and third fibers. The first, second and third fibers are each within a range of from 20 to 100 mm in average fiber length. The fibrous acoustical material has an average apparent density of from 0.01 to 0.8 g/cm,. The fibrous acoustical material is light in weight and superior in acoustical capability, heat resistance and resistance to compressive force.
