A fuel-filter abnormality detection device is used for a subject filter provided in a fuel supply device of an engine to filtrate a fuel. The fuel-filter abnormality detection device includes a first filter attachable downstream of the subject filter in fuel flow. A filtration capacity of the first filter is smaller than a filtration capacity of the subject filter, and the first filter traps a foreign matter on a downstream side of the subject filter to cause a change in fuel pressure indicating an abnormality of the subject filter. The fuel-filter abnormality detection device may include a bypass passage through which the fuel bypasses the first filter, a bypass control valve configured to allow the fuel to flow through the bypass passage when the abnormality of the subject filter is detected, and a second filter filtrating the fuel flowing through the bypass passage.

Fuel-filter abnormality detection device

A supply pump includes a housing, a tappet, a guide groove, and a stopper pin. The housing includes a cylindrical sliding wall. The tappet is configured to be reciprocated along the sliding wall. The guide groove is provided for one of the housing and the tappet. One end of the guide groove includes a tapered surface. The stopper pin is provided for the other one of the housing and the tappet. The stopper pin is fitted into the guide groove to stop rotation of the tappet relative to the housing. When the tappet is displaced abnormally in an upper direction, the tapered surface is pressed on an end of the stopper pin to be engaged with the stopper pin.

Supply pump

A cylinder body includes a cylinder hole and a discharge flow passage. The cylinder hole receives a plunger and forms a pressurizing chamber in one axial end portion thereof. The discharge flow passage is connected to the pressurizing chamber and is adapted to guide and discharge the pressurized fuel from the pressurizing chamber to an outside of the housing. A connection opening of the discharge flow passage is formed in a hole wall of the cylinder hole. A pressure is applied to a predetermined prestressing subject area in the hole wall of the cylinder hole and a passage wall of the discharge flow passage through autofrettage to generate a residual compression stress in the predetermined prestressing subject area and thereby to form a prestressed area of a final product. The prestressing subject area includes an inner peripheral edge of the connection opening.

Fuel supply pump and manufacturing method of housing of the same

A housing has a cylinder and a compression chamber. A plunger is slidable in the cylinder and configured to pressurize fuel in the compression chamber. A cam is eccentric with respect to a shaft center axis of a camshaft and integrally rotatable with the camshaft. A sliding member is slidable around an outer circumferential periphery of the cam and configured to revolve around the shaft center axis in conjunction with rotation of the camshaft. The plunger is slidable on the sliding member and configured to convert the revolution into a linear movement. The cam and the sliding member are accommodated in the housing. The sliding member has an opening through which the outer circumferential periphery is partially exposed.

Fuel injection pump and method for assembling the same

A spool valve is movably provided in a valve sliding space of a valve casing. The spool valve has a through-hole formed in the inside thereof, and a communication port formed in the spool valve is operatively communicated with a fluid port for controlling an opening area of the fluid port by moving within the valve sliding space. Multiple circular oil grooves are formed at an outer peripheral surface of the spool valve, into which high pressure fluid is supplied so that the spool valve can be smoothly moved in the valve sliding space.

Flow control valve

A fuel filter is located downstream of a feed pump to filter fuel discharged from the feed pump. An orifice is located between the fuel filter and a suction quantity control valve to restrict a flow rate of the fuel passing through the fuel filter. A positive pressure of the feed pump is applied to the fuel filter, and a passing pressure at the fuel filter increases. Even if viscosity of the fuel increases and the fuel becomes wax-like at low temperature, clogging of the fuel filter or an insufficient flow rate can be inhibited. The orifice restricts the flow rate of the fuel passing through the fuel filter. Accordingly, an increase in size of the fuel filter can be prevented even if the fuel filter is located downstream of the feed pump.

Fuel supply device

Free-cutting steel and fuel injection system component using the same

An oil supply means is provided to supply the center portion of a rotating part of an Oldham coupling with oil. The oil spreads from the center of rotation to the outside of the Oldham coupling and makes it possible to prevent the Oldham coupling from wearing. A recess is also provided to direct the oil supplied from an engine to the inward portion of the Oldham coupling. Accordingly, the oil is supplied all over an Oldham projection so that it is possible to prevent the frictional wearing of the Oldham projection disposed inside the Oldham coupling.

Drive shaft coupling device

In a fuel injection pump, a helical gear is attached to an end of a camshaft and rotatable with the camshaft. The camshaft is biased in one axial direction thereof by a driving force that the helical gear receives from an engine crankshaft. A disk is provided in a position of the camshaft extending forward from a cam to the direction in which the camshaft is biased. An axial movement of the disk is restricted via a washer by an end of a bearing cover. The disk is formed in the same axis to a portion of the camshaft that is held by a journal bearing. An outer diameter of the disk is larger than that of the cam. An area where the disk and the washer are in sliding contact with each other is relatively large and the sliding regions thereof are constant so that hammer noises are prevented and frictional wear thereof are limited.

Fuel injection pump

In a fuel injection pump, a casing fixed to a housing has a pump room and a filter room mostly separated from but partly communicating with the pump room. A feed pump is constituted by the pump room where a feed pump mechanism is connected to an axial end of the drive shaft. A filter element is accommodated in the filter room. A casing cover easily attachable and detachable to the casing has a fuel inlet port through which fuel is sucked to the filter room and, then, flows via the filter element into the pump room where the fuel is pressurized according to rotation of the drive shaft. Accordingly, foreign material contained in fuel is eliminated before entering the pump room. Further, fuel flow area of the fuel element is larger than that of the fuel inlet port, resulting in less pressure loss of fuel passing through the filter element even if mesh size of filter element is smaller.

Fuel injection pump with a filter

A fuel injection pump has a drive shaft. A cam rotates together with the drive shaft. A plurality of plungers, slidably supported by a pump housing and driven by the cam, reciprocate in accordance with rotation of the cam to pressurize the fuel introduced in a fuel pressurizing chamber. The pressurized fuel is fed to an accumulator via a fuel feed passage formed in the pump housing. A pipe joint portion is integrally formed with the pump housing and is directly connected to a piping member of the accumulator.

A body member of a common rail is formed with an accumulator chamber hole that is a through hole providing first and second openings on both ends of the body member. A sealing plug is inserted into the accumulator chamber hole from the second opening and is press-fitted into a reduced diameter part of the accumulator chamber hole so far as the sealing plug contacts a contacting part near the first opening. Thus, the sealing plug closes the first opening. When high-pressure fuel is accumulated in the accumulator chamber, the sealing plug is pressed against the contacting part. Accordingly, the sealing plug and the contacting part are adhered with each other tightly. Therefore, leak of the fuel is surely prevented.

Accumulator vessel and method of manufacturing the same

A camshaft has a cam having a circular profile. A cam-ring is rotatably arranged on a radial outside of the cam. The cam-ring orbits around the cam. The cam-ring has a metal bush on an inner surface thereon. The cam-ring rotates relative to the cam, but is prevented from a rotation itself. The cam has a groove inclined with respect to a rotating axis of the cam. The groove has openings on both axial ends of the cam. The groove introduces fuel as a lubricant into a gap between the cam and the metal bush. The fuel introduced into the gap improves a lubricity and prevents a sticking.

A pressure limiter is connected fluid-tight between a common rail having an accumulator for storing high-pressure fuel delivered from a high-pressure fuel feed pump and a relief line. In a valve body of this pressure limiter, a damper chamber is provided on the downstream side of the sliding bore, for housing a large diameter portion of the piston and holding fuel, to thereby control the downward speed of the ball valve and the piston when the ball valve and the piston are shifted to the valve closing side by the force of the spring. Thus it becomes possible to prolong the downward-moving time of the ball valve and the piston.

Accumulator fuel injection apparatus for internal combustion engines

In a fuel injection pump, flat sections are provided around a connecting segment located between an inner wall surface of a pump housing defining a fuel pressurizing chamber and an inner wall surface of a fuel intake passage as well as a connecting segment located between the wall surface of the pump housing and an inner wall surface of a fuel discharge passage to spread stresses concentrated in upper and lower intersecting points of each connecting segment over an entire periphery of the connecting segment. As a result, the strength of the fuel injection pump is improved to allow use of higher fuel injection pressures. Furthermore, the strength of the fuel injection pump is improved without increasing a wall thickness of the pump housing, so that a size of the fuel injection pump is not increased.
