A lens drive device in which a lens holder forming a moving unit and connection wires for connecting a plurality of drive coils electrically are integrally molded, and a method for manufacturing the lens drive device. This lens drive device is constructed to include: an actuator unit in which four wire-form elastic members made of a metal are molded integrally with the lens holder and an actuator base and in which connection wires for connecting a printed circuit board A coil and a printed circuit board B coil are integrally molded; and a suspension base having a pair of yokes fixing a pair of magnets arranged to confront each other through a predetermined magnetic space.

Lens drive device having metal wire-like elastic members, and method for manufacturing the same

A disc driving apparatus comprises a turntable, a clamping member and a cam mechanism. A disc is to be placed on the turntable. The clamping member holds the disc between the turntable and the clamping member with a magnetic attracting force. The cam mechanism causes a relative movement between the turntable and the clamping member to move any one of them away from another thereof or move them closer to each other. The cam mechanism has a cam and a cam follower. The cam has a contour by which a variation rate of displacement of the cam follower relative to a moving amount of the cam when the turntable and the clamping member move away form each other becomes smaller than a variation rate thereof when the turntable and the clamping member move close to each other.

Disc driving apparatus

A lens driving apparatus is disclosed which enables to make effective use of the magnetic flux of magnets and provide the coil board reduced in size. A pair of L-shaped yokes to which fixed are a V-shaped magnet and an inverted V-shaped magnet for producing a magnetic field are fixed with a plurality of screws on a plate-form actuator base, arranged opposite to each other and spaced apart by a predetermined magnetic gap. A movable portion, which is supported with four support wires of a support base fixed with a screw to the actuator base, is disposed in the magnetic gap defined by the V-shaped magnet and the inverted V-shaped magnet. Fixed to the movable portion are a V-shaped drive coil comprising focus and tracking drive coils provided on the side of a lens holder in the direction of jitter, and an inverted V-shaped drive coil or the V-shaped drive coil 80 that is rotated by 180 degrees. According to another aspect of the present invention, a V-shaped drive coil and an inverted V-shaped drive coil or the V-shaped drive coil that is rotated by 180 degrees are fixed to the movable portion. The V-shaped drive coil comprises drive coils A and B provided on the side of a lens holder in the direction of jitter. The movable portion, which is supported with four support wires of the support base fixed with the screw to the actuator base, is also disposed in the magnetic gap defined by the V-shaped magnet and the inverted V-shaped magnet.

Lens driving apparatus

A pickup apparatus capable of omitting an actuator cover and reducing the dimensions thereof, and a method of manufacturing the same. This apparatus is formed of an actuator unit in which a movable unit made by fixing printed board coils on both side surfaces of an objective lens-containing lens holder is supported movably on four wire-form elastic members fixed to an actuator base, and a suspension base which is provided with a pair of yokes to which a pair of magnets disposed in a mutually opposed state are fixed with a predetermined width of magnetic space left therebetween, and which has standing portions. A range of a movement in a focusing direction of the movable unit is restricted by inserting stopper members into insert holes of the standing portions.

A lens driving apparatus of a disc player which can avoid the rolling of a movable portion without increasing a weight of a movable portion of an actuator and printed circuit board coils for the lens driving apparatus are provided. A center of gravity of a focusing coil is located on a lower side in the focusing direction than a plane including a distribution center line of a drive force which is generated from a pair of tracking coils.

In the lens driving apparatus of a disk player, a pair of magnets for generating magnetic fields are fixed to a pair of yokes , respectively to generate a magnetic gap therebetween. The pair of yokes are oppositely arranged on and fixed to a plate-like actuator base by plural screws through a fixing member . A movable portion is movably hung by four supporting wires (or plate screws) on a supporting base that is fixed to the actuator base . The movable portion is arranged within the above magnetic gap. In such a configuration, the apparatus for a disk player can shift a natural resonance frequency to a high frequency and can be operated at a high speed.

A record medium of disc type is recorded by a constant linear velocity. The record medium is reproduced by a reproducing apparatus, which reads the information from the rotated record medium into a buffer memory by a transmission rate corresponding to the number of rotation of the record medium and outputs the read information from the buffer memory to an external apparatus by a predetermined output rate. The method of reproducing the record medium by the reproducing apparatus is provided with the steps of: setting radial ranges of a plurality of virtual zones on the record medium, each of which is in a ring shape, and the number of rotation for each of the virtual zones, on the basis of upper and lower limit values of the transmission rate, which are predetermined to be higher than the predetermined output rate, a radius of the most inner circumference of an area where the information is recorded on the record medium, and a memory capacity of the buffer memory; rotating the record medium by a constant angular velocity in each of the set virtual zones by the set number of rotation; and reading the information from the rotated record medium by the transmission rate corresponding to the set number of rotation in each of the set virtual zones.
