A Rankine cycle system has a condenser, a refrigerant circulating pump connected to the condenser, a heat collecting device connected to the refrigerant circulating pump, and an expansion turbine connected to the heat collecting device and the condenser. The refrigerant circulating pump includes an expansion tank or pressure vessel, a refrigerant supply conduit connected to the lower part of the expansion tank and to the condenser, and a refrigerant discharge conduit connected to the upper part of the expansion tank. An open/close valve is installed in the refrigerant supply conduit. A pressure regulating valve installed in the refrigerant discharge pipe opens when a pressure reaches a specified value or higher. A temperature regulating device can heat the refrigerant in the expansion tank to produce a refrigerant vapor of saturated temperature or higher, which vapor can be introduced into the heat collecting device.

Refrigerant circulating pump, refrigerant circulating pump system, method of pumping refrigerant, and rankine cycle system

A COcooling and heating apparatus and method permit simultaneous production of high-temperature heat source and low-temperature heat source having a temperature difference therebetween. The apparatus/method uses CO(carbon dioxide) as a refrigerant, and has a first refrigerating cycle circuit where the refrigerant is compressed to a supercritical zone and then decompressed via an expansion device to a pressure/temperature level of the COtriple point or below to thereby attain evaporation. The apparatus can include multistage compressors, intermediate cooler disposed in a first refrigerant flow path between a condenser and the expansion device. A second refrigerating cycle circuit having a second refrigerant flow path, which can branch off from the first refrigerant flow path or provided in an independent closed circuit, can be provided to carry out absorption of evaporation latent heat with the first refrigerant flow path to thereby maintain the pressure/temperature level of the COtriple point (Ptr) or above. A third refrigerating cycle circuit having a third refrigerant flow path also can be provided to carry out heat exchange with the second refrigerant flow path.

To shorten a long aging time required for meat processing and reducing the viable cell count of a carcass before being cooked, an electric stimulus is imparted by applying an AC voltage via from electrode needles to at least the neck and legs of the meat carcass. The AC voltage is turned on for a time Ton and then turned off for a time Toff, and the application of the voltage is repeated a predetermined number of cycles. The Ton period is not longer than the Toff period, although the first Ton period can be longer than the Toff period. The voltage is not higher than 100V, and the frequency is not higher than the commercial frequency (maximum, 60 Hz). The aging effect is improved by stimulating the entire meat carcass electrically from at most three points.

Carcass processing apparatus and method

A Rankine cycle system has a condenser, a heat pump connected to the condenser, a heat collecting device connected to the heat pump, and an expansion turbine connected to the heat collecting device and the condenser. The heat pump includes an expansion tank or closed vessel, a refrigerant supply conduit connected to the lower part of the expansion tank and to the condenser, and a refrigerant discharge conduit connected to the upper part of the expansion tank. Heat pump, heat pump system, method of pumping refrigerant, and rankine cycle system

A heat pump employing COas refrigerant and utilizing heat source of natural water, e.g. well water, ground water, river water or sea water, effectively is applied to an air conditioning system in order to enhance heating/hot water supplying capacity and refrigeration capacity without requiring a large scale appurtenant facilities.

The object of the invention is to provide a thermal complementary (combination of heat supply and heat discharge) system which can complement heat without the restriction of area of a region to be supplied with heat. An endless multiplex helical loop is formed to complement the heat produced in a region such as plants and regional facilities on a reciprocal basis, and the water is not circulated forcibly but achieves heat transfer in the helical loop. Liquid or slurry-like water is sealed in the annular endless channel (endless loop) without forcibly circulated. Therefore, loop diameter of the annular endless channel, that means the area of the region, is not limited. The water forms temperature zones in the endless helical loop, the temperature being different per each component loop. Distributed cryogenic sources and thermal sources are thermally connected to said multiplex helical loop so that heat (i.e. water) can be taken in or discharged to or from said cryogenic or thermal sources. As the water needs not be forcibly circulated, the power for forcibly circulating the water is eliminated resulting in reduced running cost. Refrigerating apparatuses, heat source apparatuses, etc. distributed in the region are effectively utilized and also central control of energy supply through the multiplex helical loops is made possible.
