A connector comprises a holding member, a plurality of terminals and a conductive member. Each of the terminals has a contact portion. The contact portions of the terminals are arranged in two rows along the pitch direction. The conductive member is held by the holding member. The conductive member has a first portion and two second portions. The first portion has a plate-like shape. The first portion has two first engagement portions. Each of the second portions has a second engagement portion. In the perpendicular direction, the second engagement portion has a size different from a size of the first engagement portion. One of the first engagement portion and the second engagement portion is recessed in the mating direction. A remaining one of the first engagement portion and the second engagement portion protrudes in the mating direction and is received in the one of the first engagement portion and the second engagement portion.

Connector and method of fabricating the same

A connector production method includes the steps of holding a flat plate conductor with a first insulator, joining central portions of one or more contacts to the first insulator such that front end portions of the one or more contacts are exposed at a front part of the first insulator and rear end portions of the one or more contacts project from a rear part of the first insulator, placing a shell made of metal over the first insulator such that the shell covers outer peripheral portions of the one or more contacts, fixing and electrically connecting the shell to the flat plate conductor, and forming a second insulator such that the second insulator covers the rear part of the first insulator and a rear part of the shell while the rear end portions of the one or more contacts project from the second insulator.

Connector production method and connector

A connector includes a first insulator, contacts joined to the first insulator, a contact insulator integrally holding the contacts in a vicinity of rear end portions thereof, a ground plate which extends along the contacts, a metal peripheral shell placed over the first insulator so as to surround a periphery of front end portions of the contacts and a front end portion of the ground plate and electrically connected to the ground plate, and a second insulator that is formed so as to cover a rear part of the first insulator, a rear part of the peripheral shell, central parts of the contacts and a central part of the ground plate, with the rear end portions of the contacts, the contact insulator and a rear end portion of the ground plate being exposed.

A waterproof connector includes a housing made of an insulating resin, and a conductive member formed integrally with the housing, the conductive member having a connector connecting section exposed from the housing, a board connecting section exposed from the housing, and a fixed section connecting embedded in the housing, a waterproof shaped section for blocking entry of water along an interface between the fixed section and the housing being formed at a surface of the fixed section, the waterproof shaped section having a protrusion that protrudes outwardly from the surface of the fixed section and a groove that is adjacent to the protrusion and is dented inwardly from the surface of the fixed section, with a top of the protrusion and a bottom of the groove adjacent to the protrusion being connected by a barrier surface inclined or perpendicular to the surface of the fixed section.

Waterproof connector

A waterproof connector including one or more contacts each having a contact-side waterproof shaped section formed around a surface of a contact-side fixed section, a shell having a fitted section with a pair of flat shell outer surfaces and a shell-side waterproof shaped section formed around a surface of a shell-side fixed section, a housing holding the one or more contacts and the shell, and a seamless waterproof member disposed around a periphery of the housing, the shell-side fixed section being positioned closer to a fitting axis between the waterproof connector and a counter connector than the shell outer surfaces of the fitted section is when viewed in a direction of the fitting axis, the shell-side waterproof shaped section, the contact-side waterproof shaped section and the waterproof member being disposed to overlap each other at a position in the direction of the fitting axis.

A waterproof connector includes a housing made of a material in which reinforcing filler pieces are dispersed in an insulating resin, and a conductive member formed integrally with the housing, the conductive member having a connector connecting section exposed from the housing and connected to a counter connector, a board connecting section exposed from the housing and connected to a board, and a fixed section connecting the connector connecting section and the board connecting section and embedded in the housing, a waterproof shaped section for blocking entry of water along an interface between the fixed section and the housing being formed at a surface of the fixed section, the waterproof shaped section including at least one groove having an opening width smaller than a size of each of the reinforcing filler pieces.

A waterproof connector includes a housing made of an insulating resin and having a counter connector accommodating section and one or more contacts formed integrally with the housing, the housing having at least one contact adhesion generating recess that is formed in a bottom section of the counter connector accommodating section to communicate with an inside of the counter connector accommodating section and that allows an adhesion force directed to a contact-side fixed section of each of the one or more contacts to be generated at a portion of the housing in contact with the contact-side fixed section by means of water pressure occurring when the inside of the counter connector accommodating section is immersed in water.

A connector is mountable on a circuit board and mateable with a mating connector along a mating direction. The connector comprises a contact, a housing, an enclosing portion and a coupling portion. The housing holds the contact. The enclosing portion encloses an outer circumference of the housing in a plane perpendicular to the mating direction. The coupling portion directly or indirectly couples the enclosing portion with the housing so as to allow the enclosing portion to move along the mating direction relative to the housing.

A waterproof connector is configured in such a manner that the waterproof properties between a housing and electrically conductive members, such as a shell and contacts, are improved. This waterproof connector includes a housing having an insulating resin and at least one electrically conductive member formed integrally with the housing. The electrically conductive member has a connection section which is exposed from the housing and connected to a mating connector, a mounting section which is exposed from the housing and mounted to a circuit board, and a holding section which connects the connection section and the mounting section, and which is embedded in the housing. A waterproof shaped section for blocking the entry of water along the interfaces between the holding section and the housing is formed on the surface of the holding section.

Waterproof connector with integrated shell and contact into housing

A waterproof connector includes a housing that is formed of an insulating resin, and at least one contact that is integrally formed in the housing. The contact has at least one housing fixing unit that is disposed in a middle portion in the longitudinal direction of the contact and is embedded in the housing and fixed thereto, and a pair of overhanging portions that are respectively disposed at both ends of the housing fixing unit and overhang in a direction vertical to a longitudinal direction of the housing fixing unit. A portion of the housing that is in contact with the housing fixing unit is fitted between the pair of overhanging portions.

This connector is capable of engaging with a mating-side connector along the vertical direction. The connector is provided with a housing, a plurality of contacts, and a seal member. The housing has a top surface in the vertical direction, and an accommodation part recessed downward from the top surface. The contacts are held in the housing. The contacts are partially accommodated in the accommodation part. The seal member has a contact part and an accommodated part. The contact part is located on the top surface of the housing. The accommodated part extends from the contact part into the accommodation part. The accommodated part is held inside the accommodation part.

The present invention provides a connector configured to electrically connect two connection objects. The connector comprises an elastic member having a surface and a conductive film placed on the surface of the elastic member. The conductive film comprises two contact portions to be brought into contact with the connection objects, respectively, and a connect portion connecting the contact portions. Each of the contact portions comprises projections and a drainage arranged, at least in part, between the projections.

In an electrical connector for connecting connection objects to each other in a connecting direction, a holding member has an accommodating portion between a first and a second surface to which the connection objects are opposed, respectively, when connected to said electrical connector. A connecting member has elasticity and is placed in the accommodating portion. The holding member includes a first and a second wall which define the accommodating portion therebetween. At least one of the first and the second walls includes a restraining portion defining a space which allows a portion of the connecting member to elastically move in a predetermined direction crossing the connecting direction.
