There is provided an X-ray imaging system having an X-ray source, an X-ray detector and a collimator assembly in the X-ray path between the X-ray source and the X-ray detector. The X-ray detector comprises a plurality of detector modules arranged side-by-side and adapted to be oriented towards the X-ray source, the detector modules being arranged side-by-side along a direction substantially orthogonal to the direction of incoming X-rays. The collimator assembly is based on a plurality of spaced collimator plates arranged side-by-side in a direction coinciding with the direction of the detector modules. The collimator assembly further comprises a physically stabilizing lateral support structure arranged in a lateral plane extending in a direction substantially orthogonal to the direction of incoming X-rays.

Various methods and systems are provided for an X-ray imaging system comprising an X-ray source, an X-ray detector array having a plurality of X-ray detecting elements configured to detect X-rays passing through an object configured to be scanned, a plurality of collimator plates positioned between the object to be scanned and the X-ray detector array, wherein one or more of the plurality of collimator plates comprises at least one bend at or in a region of a bottom end of the collimator plate, the bottom end facing the X-ray detecting elements of the X-ray imaging system. The X-ray imaging system may be a CT imaging system or other imaging system that includes an X-ray source and an X-ray detector.

A collimator, which is adhesively bonded to a detector element array, is prevented from falling off from the radiation detection apparatus even in case that a failure of the adhesive joint occurs in the collimator. A method is provided for assembling a collimator module including a plurality of first collimator plates arrayed in a first direction, each first collimator plate having a plurality of slots formed on a plate surface, and a plurality of second collimator plates arrayed in a second direction orthogonal to the first direction, wherein each second collimator plate penetrates respective slots along the first direction so as to form a lattice-shape. In order to provide a table and an MR apparatus which allows moving of a cradle and scanning to be simultaneously performed, in a table comprising a table body , a cradle provided on the table body and driving means for driving the cradle , the driving means has a hydraulic motor (i.e., a driving source utilizing fluid pressure) as a driving source.
