A recording method includes a colored ink adhering step of adhering a colored ink composition to an intermediate transfer medium by an ink jet method to form a recording region A, a clear ink adhering step of adhering a clear ink composition to at least a portion of a recording medium to form a region B, and a transfer step of transferring an image formed in the recording region A to the region B of the recording medium by heating in a state where the recording region A of the intermediate transfer medium faces the region B of the recording medium. The colored ink composition contains a sublimation dye, a water-soluble organic solvent, and water, and the intermediate transfer medium has a peeling layer containing a resin having a glass transition point of 100° C. or more and 200° C. or less.

Recording method

An ink set which is used for sublimation transfer includes a first ink, and a second ink. The first ink has a color after transfer of |a*|&#x2264;10 and |b*|&#x2264;10 in a CIELAB color space, and contains a first disperse dye dispersed by a first dispersion resin. The second ink has a color after transfer of |a*|&#x3e;10 or |b*|&#x3e;10 in the CIELAB color space, and contains a second disperse dye dispersed by a second dispersion resin. A glass transition temperature of the first dispersion resin and is different than that of the second dispersion resin.

Ink set and recording method

A sublimation transfer ink jet ink composition includes: a disperse dye; a dispersing resin; a silicone-based surfactant; and a solubilizer. The ink composition has a surface tension of 30 mN/m or less, and a cloud point of a mixture which includes all the components other than the disperse dye and the dispersing resin is 40&#xb0; C. or more.

An ink composition, which is recorded on a heated recording medium, includes: a color material; water; a first polymer particle; and a second polymer particle, in which the first polymer particle has a core-shell structure including a first core polymer and a first shell polymer, the second polymer particle has a core-shell structure including a second core polymer and a second shell polymer, each of the first shell polymer and the second shell polymer has a glass transition temperature (Tg) of 40&#xb0; C. or higher, and the glass transition temperature Tg of the first shell polymer is higher than that of the second shell polymer.

A recording method for printing on a plastic film surface of a print medium by ejecting droplets of a water-based ink composition onto the plastic film surface includes applying a water-based ink composition on the plastic film surface, and heating the water-based ink composition on the plastic film surface to a temperature of 40&#xb0; C. or more. The water-based ink composition contains a coloring agent, 0.1% to 1.5% by weight of a silicone surfactant, an acetylene glycol surfactant, a pyrrolidone derivative, a thermoplastic resin, and water.

Ink jet recording method

Recording onto a non-ink-absorbing or low-ink-absorbing recording medium is performed using an aqueous ink composition containing a first solvent composed of a glycol diether having a boiling point of 150 to 220&#xb0; C., a second solvent composed of at least one selected from 1,2-hexanediol and 1,2-pentanediol, and a third solvent composed of a glycol having a boiling point of 170 to 220&#xb0; C. and conducting two drying steps at different heating conditions.
