The profile creation apparatus includes a standard-color-profile obtaining section that obtains a standard color profile and a reference-device-profile obtaining section that obtains a reference-device profile. The profile creation apparatus further includes a color-conversion-table creation section that creates a color conversion table by combining the standard color profile and reference-device profile with being weighted such that a weighed ratio of the standard color profile increases as chroma calculated from input color values of the color conversion table increases, in a predetermined chroma region. The profile creation apparatus further includes a color conversion section that performs color conversion on a print image by using the color conversion table and outputs the print image to a certain printing device.

The profile creation method includes: determining whether a point of an input color value with the total use amount of color material being equal to the set amount exists between two adjacent lattice points in the look-up table; and, when it is determined so, calculating an output color value of an interpolation point set between the two lattice points, by a polynomial interpolation method for performing interpolation calculation by using, besides output color values of the two lattice points, an output color value of a lattice point other than the two lattice points.

An image forming material is disclosed which comprises a support and provided thereon, an image forming layer and an image protective layer in that order, the image forming layer containing a colorant and a first binder resin, and the image protective layer containing fine particles in an amount of 2 to 150 mg/M.sup.2 and a second binder resin and having a thickness of 0.03 to 1.0 .mu.m, wherein an image is formed by exposing the material to a high density energy light to reduce adhesion between the image forming layer and the support and then removing the image forming layer at exposed portions.
