Control facilities and incidental facilities in fields are flexibly managed. Since identification information enabling to identify uniquely information regarding control facilities of which design timing and architectures are mutually different or facilities incidental to the control facilities is encoded, pieces of identification information are coupled and uniqueness is guaranteed. Further, a parent-child relation between identifiers is constructed and the identifiers are structured as a tree structure based on the structure of the control facilities. A control facility operation management device manages combination of the structured identifiers and information of management target or combination of the structured identification information and identification information of a database.

A program editor creates a program-edit screen for a control system based on element data for representing circuit elements and operators and their attribute values. Here, the circuit elements and operators are components of sequential programs which constitute functions of the control system. The program editor which edits the element data on the created program-edit screen judges whether the data for representing the circuit elements and the operators is protected-function data or non-protected-function data and displays assembly sets of programs for implementing predetermined functions constituted by circuit elements and operators to which accesses are authenticated on the program-edit screen in a display mode different from those of the other assembly sets.

A process controller having an operating function is provided to each of the triplexed process input/output units. A process input/output unit for the process signal of intermediate importance is diplexed. A process input/output unit for the process signal of low importance is monoplexed. A monitoring and control system is provided having a control device, arranged in a central controller room, which provides commands to power distribution panel switch gear located in the field. The switch gear transmits and receives controlling and monitoring signals through wireless communication applying an evanescent mode. The switch gear has a power circuit connected to a plurality of devices to be operated. The switch gear is a panel comprising metal and non-metal surfaces, so that a portion of wireless waves in the evanescent mode travel out of the panel. A receiver is provided for monitoring the wireless waves that travel out of the panel. The wireless signals are compared with information stored in a diagnostics database, and are diagnostically evaluated to determine whether the signals are within a known normal operating range.

By controlling a CPU in the switch gear, an activation of the auxiliaries to be protected which are connected to a power circuit is commanded and then the protection operation and the interlock operation for the auxiliaries to be operated are carried out. A small scale of the apparatus can be attained and the wiring cables can be lessened.

The calculated result of the operation amount is repeatedly applied to the predicting section until the evaluation criterion is satisfied, a correcting signal used for optimizing the operation amount is obtained from a value of the operation amount when the quantitated result satisfies the criterion, and the correcting signal is added to a basic signal of the control section, and the adding result is output to the process.

A system and a method of monitoring and displaying in which control screen indicating a control data of a control device for process control displayed on the display screen of a display unit by a touch operation on a diagram of the control device, the control data being further selected by another touch operation. The display condition of the control data display area thus changes, the operator being permitted to visually check whether the operation has been selected correctly. After visual confirmation, a switch disposed outside of the display screen and corresponding to the called control screen is operated to start the operation of the control device determined for control for the first time at this time point. In case of a combined display of a control device and a control screen, on the other hand, a first display unit is utilized such that the called control screen is displayed at a position far from the control device to be controlled, thereby not hiding the control device display. The control screen may be moved to a given position on the system diagram. A second display unit is utilized such that the original system diagram is displayed in a reduced form in combination with and not superimposed on the called control screen. The control screen and the control-related screen are called repeatedly so that when the reduction rate of the original system diagram exceeds a critical value, the reduction rate is fixed to a predetermined value and the control screens are displayed in scroll.
