An image transmission system including an image processing device and a communicating device which are communicable with each other through an access point in an infrastructure mode through an 'm' channel, wherein upon a communication failure in the infrastructure mode, the communication mode is switched from the infrastructure mode to an ad hoc mode in which the two devices are directly communicable with each other through an 'n' channel. During the communication in the ad hoc mode, the &#x201c;m&#x201d; channel is scanned to detect the access point at a predetermined time interval, and upon detection of the access point through the &#x201c;m&#x201d; channel, the communication mode is switched back to the infrastructure mode.

Image transmission system

A communication system comprises a main communication device including a first communication unit executing wireless communication by a first method (mainly for voice data communication) and a second communication unit executing wireless communication by a second method (for communication of data other than voice data at a higher transfer rate) and an auxiliary communication device (operating on a secondary battery) including first and second auxiliary communication units executing wireless communication with the first and second communication units by the first and second methods, respectively. Whether communication of data (except voice data) should be executed by the first method or by the second method is determined based on the amount of the data. When the first method is selected, the data is segmented in prescribed data units and the communication of the segmented data is executed by the first communication unit and the first auxiliary communication unit by the first method.

A mobile phone apparatus is provided. The mobile phone apparatus includes a charger for supplying power to a rechargeable battery including a connection portion and a main telephone unit. The main telephone unit includes a rechargeable battery detection unit which detects whether the connection portion of the rechargeable battery is connected to the main telephone unit; an overvoltage protection unit which is coupled to the connection portion of the rechargeable battery and switches between an active state of supplying power output from the connection portion and an inactive state of not supplying power output from the connection portion; and a controller which controls the overvoltage protection unit to switch the overvoltage protection unit into the active state if the rechargeable battery detection unit detects that the rechargeable battery is connected.
