Processing is performed to make a user to certainly read information, e.g., a document, to be read by the user. In the processing, a database of an information management server stores information to be read by the user, an ID identifying the information, and status information identifying whether the information is not yet read by the user. When the user wishes to operate an apparatus in a system, the operation of the apparatus is restricted if the information to be read by the user is unread. If the information to be read by the user is already read, the operation of the apparatus is permitted.

In order to make the depth of penetration in the weld bead portion uniform and obtain a bead shape having a flat bottom without spiking and meltdown during continuous hot rolling by bonding a plurality of hot-rolled steel materials using a laser beam, the following methods are employed: (A) a method of butt welding wherein center gas is blown against the welding portion symmetrically to the optical axis of the laser beam while side gas is being blown thereagainst from the side, the method comprising conducting welding while the center of laser-induced plasma is shifted in the welding direction from the center of the laser beam by a distance 0.2 to 0.5 times as much as a reference plasma diameter determined from the laser output and the beam diameter, and the type and flow rate of the center gas; or (B) a method comprising scanning the butt line with the laser beam during the laser welding at a speed of 2 to 10 m/min, and simultaneously oscillating the laser beam in the direction vertical to the butt line at a frequency of 40 to 80 Hz at an amplitude of 0.4 to 1.0 mm. Alternatively, (C) in order to prevent formation of blow holes in the weld bead, to make the depth of penetration in the weld bead portion uniform, and to obtain a bead shape having a flat bottom without spiking and excessive penetration, laser welding is conducted while a filler wire of an iron series base material, containing from 0.05 to 3% of one or at least two elements selected from aluminum, silicon, titanium and manganese, is being supplied to the welding portion. Moreover, (D) in order to stably supply a filler wire to the butt portion with high supply accuracy, the filler wire W is passed through a wire supply nozzle having a curved portion, and the filler wire is supplied toward the welding point along the welding line.

Method of butt-welding hot-rolled steel materials by laser beam and apparatus therefor

A grain-oriented electrical steel sheet with improved magnetic properties is achieved by a reduced 180&deg; C. magnetic wall spacing with pulse laser light irradiation. The rolling direction width of the periodic closure domain generated by laser irradiation is no greater than 150 &mgr;m. The depth of the periodic closure domain in the direction of the steel sheet thickness is at least 30 &mgr;m. The product of the length of the periodic closure domain in the rolling direction width direction multiplied by the length of the depth of the periodic closure domain in the direction of the steel sheet thickness is at least 4500 &mgr;m . The magnetostriction with materials of 0.23 mm sheet thickness (&lgr;19 p-p compression) is no greater than 0.9&times;10 , and magnetostriction with materials of 0.27 mm sheet thickness (&lgr;19 p-p compression) is no greater than 1.3&times;10 .

Continuous hot rolling method

Sheet bars are effectively joined while they are traveling and subjected to continuous hot rolling without causing defects in quality and without requiring large expensive apparatus such as a swing roller etc. The present invention is to provide a continuous hot rolling method and apparatus in which the tail of a preceding sheet bar is butted to the top of a succeeding sheet bar between the rough and finishing mills on a continuous hot rolling line, and the butted portion is welded from the upper surface of the sheet bars by means of laser beam or plasma arc while the sheet bars are traveling. According to the present invention, it is possible to join sheet bars from the upper surface in a short period of time without stopping the sheet bars and without causing splashes and burrs, before the sheet bars are subjected to continuous finish rolling. Since the welded apparatus does not interfere with the sheet bar conveyance table, hot strips of high quality can be effectively manufactured by the economical apparatus.

The laser beam is projected against the range of over 30% and below 80% of the thickness of the butted edges including the central portion of the thickness to melt the butted edges by the combined heating action of the laser beam and high-frequency current.
