In a process for producing an oriented inorganic crystalline film, a non-monocrystalline film containing inorganic crystalline particles is formed on a substrate by a liquid phase technique using a raw-material solution which contains a raw material and an organic solvent, where the inorganic crystalline particles have a layered crystal structure and are contained in the raw material. Then, the non-monocrystalline film is crystallized by heating the non-monocrystalline film to a temperature equal to or higher than the crystallization temperature of the non-monocrystalline film so that part of the inorganic crystalline particles act as crystal nuclei.

A photo-conductor, which is adapted for use in constituting a radiation detector and which is capable of forming electric charges by being exposed to radiation, contains BiMO, in which M represents at least one kind of element selected from the group consisting of Ge, Si, and Ti. The photo-conductor has characteristics such that a proportion of a diffuse reflectivity at a wavelength of 450 nm with respect to the diffuse reflectivity at a wavelength of 600 nm is equal to at least 75%.

The biochemical analysis unit has a base plate and absorptive regions. The absorptive regions are surrounded by the base plate formed of materials which shield a radioactive ray and a light. In the absorptive regions are applied and absorbed specific binding substances to be bound with substances derived from a living organism that are labeled with labeling substances for generating the radioactive ray or the light. The base plate prevents the specific binding substances from penetrating in the other absorptive regions. When an analysis of data of the radioactive ray and the light is carried out, an image of the radioactive ray and the light is generated without noises.

A biochemical analysis kit includes a biochemical analysis unit including a substrate capable of attenuating radiation energy and light energy and formed with a plurality of absorptive regions to be spaced apart from each other, and a stimulable phosphor sheet including a support formed with a plurality of stimulable phosphor layer regions in substantially the same pattern as that of the plurality of absorptive regions, the plurality of absorptive regions of the biochemical analysis unit and the plurality of stimulable phosphor layer regions of the stimulable phosphor sheet being formed so that an average area Sm of the plurality of absorptive regions of the biochemical analysis unit and an average area Sp of the plurality of stimulable phosphor layer regions of the stimulable phosphor sheet meet a requirement that Sp is equal to or larger than a quarter of Sm. According to the thus constituted biochemical analysis kit, it is possible to produce biochemical analysis data having excellent quantitative characteristics with high resolution by reading radiation data or chemiluminescence data transferred from the biochemical analysis unit to the stimulable phosphor sheet.

Biochemical analysis kit and method for exposing stimulable phosphor sheet

A radiation image storage panel comprises a first rigid layer, and a stimulable phosphor layer, which is overlaid on the first rigid layer. A filler layer is located by adhesion on the side of the first rigid layer, on which side the stimulable phosphor layer is overlaid, or a filler layer is located by adhesion on the side opposite to the side of the first rigid layer, on which side the stimulable phosphor layer is overlaid. A second rigid layer is overlaid by adhesion on the filler layer. The density of the filler layer is lower than the density of the first rigid layer and the density of the second rigid layer. The radiation image storage panel exhibits little deflection by gravity and is capable of yielding a reproduced radiation image having good image quality.

Stimulating rays produced by a line light source are linearly irradiated onto an area of a stimulable phosphor sheet, on which a radiation image has been stored, the stimulating rays causing the sheet to emit light in proportion to an amount of energy stored thereon during its exposure to radiation. Light emitted from the exposed linear area of the sheet is received with a line sensor comprising photoelectric conversion devices arrayed along each of a length direction of the linear area of the stimulable phosphor sheet and a direction normal to the length direction. The sheet is moved with respect to the line light source and the line sensor and in a direction different from the length direction of the linear area of the sheet. Operation processing is performed on outputs of the photoelectric conversion devices, which outputs have been obtained at respective positions of movement and correspond to an identical site on the sheet.

Radiation image read-out method and apparatus

A scattered ray removal grid that has an overall shape of constant spherical curvature. The scattered ray removal grid has radiation absorbing portions arrayed in a lattice configuration and radiation non-absorbing portions made of thermoplastic resin disposed between the radiation absorbing portions and can therefore be easily produced to have an overall spherical shape at low cost.

In a radiation image read-out apparatus, a line stimulating light beam is projected onto a stimulable phosphor sheet, and stimulated emission emitted from the irradiated portion of the stimulable phosphor sheet is detected by a line sensor. A refractive index profile type lens array is disposed between the stimulable phosphor sheet and the line sensor. The photoelectric convertor elements of the line sensor and the refractive index profile type lenses of the refractive index profile type lens array are arranged at pitches such that the frequency band of the periodic pattern generated due to the pitches of the refractive index profile type lenses in said refractive index profile type lens array are higher than the frequency band of a radiation image information reproduced on the basis of the image signal.

Radiation image read-out apparatus

In a radiation image acquisition apparatus that obtains a radiation image recorded on a stimulable phosphor layer having a plurality of arranged cells, the quantity of stimulated emissions from the stimulable phosphor within each cell is obtained precisely for each cell as a digital image signal. A radiation image conversion panel comprising a phosphor layer formed of multiple cells filled with stimulable phosphor having recorded on the surface thereof a radiation image is scanned with a stimulating light beam by a scanning unit, and the stimulated emissions caused thereby are photoelectrically detected as an analog image signal by a photoelectrical amplifier. The signal component representing the partition walls is recognized, and the component of the analog image signal obtained between the recognized signal components representing the cell partition walls is digitized and a digital image signal is obtained.

Radiation image acquisition method and apparatus

A method of preparing a phosphor layer coating solution of a radiation image conversion panel is provided, in which, at least a phosphor, a binder, a cross-linking agent which cross-links the binder by being heated, and a solvent are constituent components of the phosphor layer coating solution. The method includes a phosphor dispersing step in which the constituent components other than the cross-linking agent are mixed and stirred to disperse the phosphor such that a phosphor dispersion is prepared, a cooling step in which the phosphor dispersion prepared in the phosphor dispersing step is cooled, and a cross-linking agent adding step in which the cross-linking agent is added to the phosphor dispersion cooled in the cooling step and the dispersion is stirred such that the cross-linking agent is thoroughly mixed therewith.

Disclosed herein is a radiation image information reader for reading radiation image information from a stimulable phosphor sheet and obtaining an image signal which represents the radiation image information. The radiation image information reader comprises a horizontal scan section and a read section. The horizontal scan section is used for horizontally scanning a plurality of spot-sized excitation light beams simultaneously onto the phosphor sheet at predetermined intervals on a horizontal scanning line. The read section is used to obtain the image signal which represents the radiation image information by photoelectrically detecting photostimulated luminescent light beams, emitted from portions of the sheet irradiated with the excitation light beams and/or from portions on a bottom surface of the sheet which correspond to the irradiated portions, by horizontal scanning of the excitation light beams.

A stimulable phosphor sheet comprises an intermediate layer constituted of a substance, which absorbs low energy components of radiation and transmits at least light having predetermined wavelengths, and stimulable phosphor layers, which are overlaid respectively on two surfaces of the intermediate layer. The substance contains a bismuth compound or at least one lead compound selected from the group consisting of PbF , 2PbCO .Pb(OH) , PbTe, and PbWO . The intermediate layer is chemically stable, has a high capability of separating energy distributions, and acts such that an energy subtraction image having good image quality is obtained from energy subtraction processing.
