A fuel injection device (fuel supply system) of a common rail type fuel injection system for an engine includes a pressure sensor disposed in a fuel inlet of an injector for measuring a fuel pressure at a position where the sensor is disposed and an ECU for sensing various kinds of pressure fluctuations associated with the injection including a pressure leak due to an injection operation of the injector and waving characteristics due to actual injection thereof based on sensor outputs from the pressure sensor. The ECU serially obtains the sensor outputs from the pressure sensor at intervals of 20 &#x3bc;sec.

Fuel injection device and adjustment method thereof

An electronic tag is attached to a filter cartridge, which includes a filter. The electronic tag stores individual product information of the filter and wirelessly transmits the individual product information. A wireless receiver device is installed to a predetermined location of a vehicle, which is other than the filter cartridge and receives the individual product information transmitted from the electronic tag. A diagnostic device diagnoses whether the individual product information is received by the wireless receiver device or whether the filter cartridge installed in the vehicle has a desired filtering performance based on contents of the individual product information received by the wireless receiver device.

Fuel filter diagnostic system and filter cartridge

A fuel injection system designed to learn the quantity of fuel sprayed actually from a fuel injector into an internal combustion engine. When the engine is placed in a given learning condition, the system works to spray different quantities of the fuel for different injection durations in sequence to the engine through the fuel injector to collect a plurality of data on the quantity of the fuel sprayed actually from the fuel injector. The system analyzes the corrected data to determine an injection characteristic of the fuel injector, which may have changed from a designer-defined basic injection characteristic of the fuel injector, and uses the injection characteristic in calculating an injection duration or on-duration for which the fuel injector is to be opened to spray a target quantity of fuel.

Fuel injection system with injection characteristic learning function

An electronic control unit of an accumulation type fuel injection system increases a number of injections performed by an injector in one injection period from a normal injection number if a pressure difference provided by subtracting target pressure from actual pressure is greater than a determination threshold and conditions for performing the injection are established, or if high-temperature combustion is predicted. If a normal injection mode is a main injection mode, it is changed to a pilot injection mode or a multi-injection mode. If the normal injection mode is the pilot injection mode, it is changed to the multi-injection mode. If the normal injection mode is the multi-injection mode, a number of minute injections is increased. Thus, combustion is slackened and noise caused by the high-temperature combustion can be alleviated.

Accumulation type fuel injection system

A fuel injection is carried out as n split injections. Each of injection quantities is defined by dividing an injection quantity into n fuel injections. A FCCB correction and an ISC correction are carried out while n split injection cycles are performed. A value obtained by adding up an FCCB correction for each injection cycle and an ISC correction for each injection cycle is updated and stored as a learned injection quantity. The learned injection quantity is calculated as an injection quantity correction for each cylinder to be added to a command injection quantity for each injection cycle.

Fuel injection control system for engine

An injection quantity control system for an internal combustion engine stores a value Qb, which is a sum of an FCCB correction value and an ISC correction value corresponding to an injection frequency of K times per combustion in multi-injection in an idling stabile state of the engine. The system stores a value Qc, which is a sum of the FCCB correction value and the ISC correction value corresponding to the injection frequency of N times. Based on a difference between the values Qb and Qc, a final learning value (Q1/K or Q1/N) is calculated. Thus, an injector individual difference, an inter-cylinder injection quantity variation, and an injector aging deterioration quantity can be discriminated from an increase in an engine-demanded injection quantity due to an engine load factor.
