A headlamp device of a vehicle is configured as follows: A headlamp housingis provided with a shock-absorbing portionwhich protrudes from the rear wall of the headlamp housingtoward the rear of the vehicle, and whose longitudinal section is formed in a U-shape which opens toward the front of the vehicle. Headlamp device for automobile

A vehicle body structure, includes: a pair of front side members, front ends of which are joined to both ends of a front bumper via impact absorbing portions, respectively; front-side-member upper members, which are arranged above the front side members, and front ends of which are connected to the front side members, respectively; front-side-member lower members, which are arranged below the front side members, and front ends of which are connected to the front side members, respectively; and a dash cross member, which extends in a widthwise direction of a vehicle body, and to which rear ends of the front-side-member lower members are joined. The dash cross member includes wall portions with which parts of the rear ends of the front-side-member lower members can be brought in contact, on a rear side of the vehicle body.

Vehicle body structure

A body framework construction, includes: a rear seat cross member, extending in a transverse direction of a vehicle, in a rear part of a body in a lower part of a passenger compartment; a dash cross member upper, extending in the transverse direction, in a front part of the passenger compartment; and a backbone, configured into a thin, long shape having a closed cross section, and extending in a longitudinal direction of the vehicle. A front end portion of the backbone is connected to the dash cross member upper via a gusset, and a rear end portion of the backbone is joined to the rear seat cross member. The gusset is deformed more easily than the backbone relative to a force from a front.

Body framework construction

A vehicle body structure in which a ridge of a front side member is continuous with a ridge of a dash brace to make it possible to efficiently transmit an impact force, and which is capable of realizing an intended deformation of the front side member suited to the impact force, while effectively utilizing a reaction force generated in a side frame member. A front portion of the dash brace is inserted into the front side member through a notch formed in a dash panel, and is overlapped with and spot-welded to a side face of the front side member, whereby the ridge of the front side member is directly continuous with the ridge of the dash brace.

In a vehicle side sill structure in which a side sill portion having a substantially closed cross section extending in a longitudinal direction of a vehicle body is provided at the side of the vehicle body, a pipe member is disposed inside the side sill portion in such a manner as to extend in the longitudinal direction of the vehicle body, and at least two concave portions (fragile portions) are formed in a side portion of the pipe member. Further, a reinforcing member is disposed substantially along the side portion of the pipe member, and cooperates with the side portion to form a second closed section. This enables proper deformation particularly during side impact with a simple structure.
