Explosive material composition and method for preparing the same

A method for preparing a high-pressure phase cubic spinel-type silicon nitride includes housing a molding containing low-pressure phase silicon nitride powder and a metal powder in a cylindrical container, arranging an explosive in the cylindrical container so as to surround the molding, and exploding the explosive to compress the molding. An X-ray diffraction pattern of the high-pressure phase cubic spinel-type silicon nitride produced according to the method of the present invention shows a maximum peak having a full width at half maximum of 0.65 degrees or less. TG-DTA analysis of the cubic spinel-type silicon nitride shows a weight change starting temperature of 700 to 1100&#xb0; C.

High-pressure phase silicon nitride having a cubic spinel structure and the manufacturing method

A stable, low-temperature ignition gas generating composition has a heating starting temperature of 170 to 220&#xb0; C. The gas generating composition includes ammonium perchlorate, a chlorine scavenger, and microcrystalline carbon powder. The chlorine scavenger is sodium nitrate or aluminun/magnesium mixed powder, and the microcrystalline carbon powder is activated carbon or charcoal. The gas generating composition may include 40 to 58% by weight of ammonium perchlorate, 30 to 43% by weight of the chlorine scavenger, and 1 to 30% by weight of the microcrystalline carbon powder.

Gas generating composition and gas generator

A gas generating composition includes ammonium nitrate as an oxidizing agent, microcrystalline carbon powder as a reducing agent, and a stabilizer for preventing decomposition of ammonium nitrate. The amounts of the ammonium nitrate, the carbon powder, and the stabilizer are 89 to 99 wt %, 1 to 6 wt %, and 0.2 to 6 wt %, respectively, with respect to the total amount of ammonium nitrate, microcrystalline carbon and stabilizer. The amount of microcrystalline carbon is preferably 1.5 to 6 wt % with respect to the amount of ammonium nitrate, and the amount of the stabilizer is preferably 10 to 200 wt % with respect to the amount of microcrystalline carbon powder. The stability of present composition is improved, especially, at high temperatures. The composition has an appropriate burn rate, produces substantially no carbon dioxide, and has a proper sensitivity. The present composition is easy to handle and is inexpensive.

Gas generating composition and method

A gas-generating composition having superior gasification rate, appropriate combustion rate, and suppressed carbon monoxide generation. The gas-generating composition includes ammonium nitrate, metal oxyacid salt, ammonium perchlorate, and combusting component. A basic combustion residue derived from the metal oxyacid salt is neutralized by hydrogen chloride derived from the ammonium perchlorate, thereby substantially neutralizing combustion residue of the gas-generating composition.

Gas-generating compositions

A gas-generating composition is provided resistant to temperature changes between &minus;40&deg; C. and 100&deg; C., repeated 200 times. The gas-generating composition includes a nitrogen compound stabilizer having nitrogen atom with an unpaired electron. The gas-generating composition is stabilized by the stabilizer by improving the adhesiveness between the organic binder and ammonium nitrate.

The present invention relates to a method for manufacturing a highly purified diamond. In the method, a copper powder having purity 99.8% or more and having an acid-insoluble impurity concentration at 50 ppm or less, and graphite are mixed at first. The mixture of the copper powder and graphite is loaded into a sample tube. The sample tube is placed in an explosive tube. Explosive is loaded in the surrounding of the sample tube. Graphite is shock-compressed by the detonation of the explosive to yield diamond.

Method for manufacturing high-pressure phase material

A gas generating composition for generating gas by a combustion reaction to inflate, for example, an airbag. The gas generating composition includes an oxidant and crystalline carbon powder that reacts with the oxidant. The oxidant is preferably ammonium nitrate. The crystalline carbon powder is preferably activated carbon powder. The gas generating composition preferably includes a high energy substance, binder and plasticizer.
