A component mounting machine for mounting electronic components onto a plurality of circuit boards in high speed with a simple structure is disclosed. The electronic component mounting machine includes a board conveyer section which has first and second positioning areas, where the first positioning area is movable in the Y direction, and a plurality of transport units, each unit having a plurality of component pick-up units and being movable independently in the X direction on a same X-guide.

Electronic component mounting machine and method therefor

An electronic parts mounting device of the type including a head movable along the upper surface of a substrate and in the directions of X- and Y-axes for, arranging electronic parts at predetermined locations on the substrate. The device comprises a frame, a spindle mounted on the frame rotatably and movably in the vertical directions with the upper end being connected to the vacuum source and the lower end having a nozzle for absorbing the electronic parts, a rotatable device rotatable relative to the frame and connected to the spindle displaceably in the axial directions and not rotatably relative thereto. A locator supporting device for supporting at least one pair of locators with the lower ends of which opposing the tip end of the nozzle and for clamping and retaining the electronic parts absorbed on the nozzle, and the locators supported rotatably around the horizontal axis and connected to the spindle so as to displace in the axial direction and non-rotatably, and connected to the rotatable device, and a locator rotating device for rotating the locators to close the locators when the locators and the nozzle are at the same level.

A magnetic disk positioning device for loading a magnetic disk onto a disk drive comprises a driving pin projecting from a turntable. The driving pin, which is positioned within a triangular hole defined within the disk drive turntable, is capable of moving in both the radial and circumferential directions. Upon loading, the driving pin initially slips into a rectangular shaped hole provided in the disk hub. As the disk rotates further, the driving pin is clamped by a slanting side of the triangular hole and two sides of the rectangular hole. By securing the position of the driving pin, the invention enables a magnetic disk to be accurately and consistently positioned at the desired point within the disk drive and so allows more precise recording and replaying.

Apparatus for positioning a magnetic disk on a disk drive

A device for supporting magnetic heads for double sided magnetic discs includes two pivot points for both the upper and lower magnetic head support plates in a manner that the connecting line of both upper pivot points and the connecting line of both lower pivot points are crossing. The degreee of contact between the magnetic heads and a magnetic disc is improved since both support plates are incorporated with each other to absorb the opposite side's deflection.

A magnetic disk positioning device for loading a magnetic disk onto a disk drive comprises a driving pin projecting from a turntable. A method and apparatus for forming thick-film integrated circuits provides a secondary up-down mover which prevents a nozzle from being damaged. A spring is applied to the secondary mover as a shock-absorber acting when the nozzle descends to a substrate. A restrictor is provided which restricts the action of the secondary up-down mover by solenoid action, such that the nozzle is accurately ascended from the substrate by a predetermined dimension with the secondary up-down mover in the restricted condition.

Method and apparatus for forming a thick film integrated circuit

A piston driving device for dispensing a predetermined small amount of paste-like material from a nozzle in response to an electrical signal without any time-delay is enabled by the slow rotation of a ball-screw shaft, the rotation being reduced by a differential gear system. A female ball-nut fitted onto the ball-screw shaft causes a piston plunger to advance at very low speed such that dispensing of the predetermined volume of paste-like fluid is possible. Vertical motion of a nozzle is compensated by vertical motion of a piston driving device such that the relative position of a piston against a nozzle is unchanged.

A shock absorbing apparatus for loading a magnetic disc onto a disc drive comprises disc positioning pins equipped with shock absorbing devices which effectively load the magnetic disc smoothly, without shocks. The pins hold a collar in place using a coil spring and a ball placed in a hole drilled into the side of the pin. The collar is thus allowed to move up and down freely, its motion controlled by a sliding disc holder. The collar thus absorbs shocks to the magnetic disc normally encountered when loading such discs on a conventional disc drive.

A dust protection device provided at an inlet portion of a magnetic disc drive allows insertion and ejection of a disc without exposing the inside of the disc drive.
