According to one embodiment, the A/D conversion unit includes a &#x394;&#x3a3; modulating device which samples the analog electric quantity provided by the electric power system with a predetermined modulation frequency and outputs a bit stream changing over time of single bit obtained by performing &#x394;&#x3a3; modulation, and the digital operation processing unit includes one or more digital filters which inputs the bit stream from the &#x394;&#x3a3; modulating device and of which frequency characteristics differ according to a type of protection control operation, and one or more operation processing elements which perform different kinds of protection control operation processing, based on the bit stream provided by the digital filter.

A protection relay device includes: an analog-to-digital converter that samples an analog signal inputted from an analog input unit and converts the analog signal into digital data; a variable filter that filters and outputs the digital data, the variable filter having a filter coefficient that is varied by external control; and an adaptive controller that variably controls the filter coefficient of the variable filter so that a difference between the digital data filtered by the variable filter and a target signal decreases.

This invention provides a protection control measurement system, with excellent economy and maintainability. In the protection control measurement terminal, electric quantity acquisition and transmitter-determines synchro-phasor quantities from electric quantity data and transmits the synchro-phasor quantities to arrival time-guaranteed transmitter-. The arrival time-guaranteed transmitter-transmits in real- time the synchro-phasor quantities to the parent station device. Setting value transmitter-transmits setting value data to the message transmitter-, which performs message transmission to the parent station deviceover the communication network. In the parent station device, electric quantity arithmetic processor-calculates electric quantities as close as possible to true values by multiplying received synchro-phasor quantities by setting value data. The protection control measurement arithmetic processor-performs arithmetic operations for accident judgment for protection control measurement terminalsfrom the magnitudes of electric quantities and voltage phase differences.

Wide area protection control measurement system and method

An accident point locating system locates an accident point on a power transmission line. A digital protective control system has a plurality of digital protective controllers that receive state data representing a state of an electric power system and convert the same into corresponding digital state data. An absolute time acquiring means acquires an absolute time when the state data is sampled. A state data processing decides whether any malfunction occurred in the power transmission system on the basis of the digital state and executes a protective operation when it is decided that an accident occurred in the power transmission system. A recording device adds an absolute sampling time to the digital state data and records the digital state data with the absolute time. A digital data sending device provides the digital state data with the absolute time on a communication network. A display operating system connected to the communication network executes displaying operations to monitor the operation and condition of the digital protective controllers. The display operating system has a distance calculating device for calculating a distance between a control station and an accident point by using the plurality of digital state data with the absolute time received from the digital protective controllers and a display for displaying the output of the distance calculating device.

The control system for a plant comprises a rectifier connected to a network. The rectifier has a unit for acquiring precise time, a unit for sampling the state quantity on the precise time to convert the state quantity into digital data and a unit for adding the precise time at each sampling timing to the digital data to transmit the digital data each having the precise time to the network. A breaker is connected to the network. The breaker has a unit for receiving, through the network, a control command thereto and a unit for transmitting an operating state thereof to the network. A control apparatus is connected to the network. The control apparatus has a unit for performing an operation process on the digital data transmitted through the communication network and the operating state of the breaker transmitted therethrough and a unit for transmitting the control command through the communication network to the breaker in response to a result of the control operation process of the performing unit.

In a data management unit in a computer system, the computer system has a computer in which the data management unit is incorporated, and a terminal intercommunicates with the computer. In the data management unit, an object data storage unit (memory) stores in addresses thereon data items to which the terminal is adapted to make access. A parameter management file stores thereon parameters concerning a data structure of each data item. The parameters include a data name of each data item, a data type of each data item, an address related to each data item on the data storage unit and an array information of at least one data item. Then at least one data item has an array structure, and the array information includes a number of the array elements. On a number of bytes definition table, a number of bytes corresponding to each data type of each data item is stored. A data table producing module is adapted to make, according to the parameters concerning the data structures of the data items of the numbers of bytes of the data types, an address related to each data item in array element units on the memory (data storage unit) correspond to each data name of each data item so as to produce a data table.

In the electric power system protective control system, a plurality of protective control apparatuses each having a protective control function to an electric power system are distributed and connected through a communication network to each other so that data communication is permitted among the respective protective control apparatuses. Each of the protective control apparatuses is carried out a process of executing a control operation related to the protective control function of the own apparatus according to a program module. The program module migrates through the communication network to the own apparatus along a predetermined route of migration. Each of the protective control apparatuses executes a process of migrating the program module from the own apparatus to another protective control apparatus. The another protective control apparatus is determined to a next destination of migration according to the route of migration. In a case where the program module is not migrated by the migration process to the next destination protective control apparatus, each of the protective control apparatuses executes a process of changing a next destination of migration of the program module to a predetermined protective control apparatus except for the next destination protective control apparatus, making it possible to prevent the program module from stopping.

An electric power system protection and control system, including, a plurality of protection controllers, each for executing protection and control of an electric power system by inputting a status quantity of the electric power system and for converting the status quantity into digital data, and a display controller connected to each of the protection controllers via a communication network, for displaying and controlling an operation and status of each of the protection controllers for monitoring. The display controller is provided with a program module sending unit for sending out a program module corresponding to contents for display control in the display controller to one of the protection controllers via the communication network, respectively. Each of the protection controllers is provided with, a program module receiving unit for receiving the program module from the display controller or another one of the protection controllers via the communication network, an execution unit for executing the received program module, and a transfer unit for transferring an execution result by the execution unit or the program module stored in the protection controller to the display controller or another one of the protection controllers via the communication network.
