A connector includes an inner housing receiving terminals, and an outer housing which is attached to the inner housing in a direction of insertion of the terminals into the inner housing. The outer housing includes pressing portions which abut against or are closely opposed to the respective terminals, received in their respective predetermined positions within the inner housing, in the direction of attaching of the outer housing.

Connector

There is provided a lock structure of two articles which are attached to each other by fitting one article on the other article. The lock structure includes a lock arm formed at one of the two articles, and an arm reception portion which has a retaining portion for retaining engagement with the lock arm, and is formed at the other of the two articles. During the time when the one article is attached to the other article, the lock arm is brought into abutting engagement with the arm reception portion, and is elastically deformed to slide past the retaining portion, and becomes engaged with the retaining portion. The arm reception portion has a guide portion extending to the retaining portion, and a distal end portion of the lock arm is received between the guide portion and an outer surface of the other article.

Lock structure

A connector housing body has a terminal receiving chamber. A projecting terminal has a terminal base received in the terminal receiving chamber and a projecting portion projecting from the housing body. A front body covers the projecting portion of the terminal. The front body has the terminal insertion hole through which the projecting portion of the terminal is extended. L locking means are provided in the housing body and the front body for finally locking the front body to the housing body at a final locking position where the projecting portion of the terminal is extended from the insertion hole. The locking means preliminarily locks the front body at the preliminary locking position where a leading end of the projecting portion of the terminal is positioned with a less distance from the front body than at the final locking position. At the preliminary locking position, the projecting portion of the terminal is not extended from the terminal insertion hole of the front body. Even when the projecting portion of the projecting terminal a little extends from the front body, the extended length is smaller than at the final locking position.

Electrical connector

In a waterproof connector, a sealing material is filled in an internal space of an outer housing which lies between an inner housing and a waterproof plug. The outer housing is so formed that a centerline of a connector opening and a centerline of a waterproof plug receiving portion are offset a predetermined amount from each other, and the density of wires in the sealing material-filling space within the outer housing is made generally uniform.

Waterproof connector

A junction terminal is accommodated in a connector housing to connect a pin terminal fitted on a case of an electric instrument with a receptacle terminal of a wiring harness connector. The junction terminal includes a female electrical contact portion to electrically connect with the pin terminal of the electric instrument, a male electrical contact portion to electrically connect with the receptacle terminal of the wiring harness connector, and a bridging portion to connect the female electrical contact portion with the male electrical contact portion. The male electrical contact portion is constructed so as to be correctly positioned by a positioning member attached to the connector housing. The male electrical contact portion is arranged such that a first longitudinal line passing an intermediate point of the male electrical contact portion aligns with a second longitudinal line passing an intermediate point of the female electrical contact portion.

Junction terminal and connector having the same

An inner plate ( ) holding and positioning terminals ( ) in a connector fitting direction (A) is received within a connector housing ( ), and the inner plate ( ) is supported for movement in a direction (B) perpendicular to the connector fitting direction. Conductor-exposed portions of wires ( ) are disposed at a position spaced from the terminals, and a potting material ( ) is filled and cured in such a portion of the connector housing that the wires are allowed to be deformed in accordance with the movement of the inner plate, and the conductor-exposed portions are sealed in the filled and cured potting material ( ). Guide portions ( ) for guiding the terminals so as to properly fit these terminals relative to respective terminals of a mating connector ( ) are provided at the inner plate.

Liquid-blocking connector

To manufacture a molded connector formed by a primary molding and a secondary molding, a primary molded piece having resin portion integrally formed with terminals and a projection formed on the resin portion is prepared first. The primary molded piece is disposed inside a mold used for the secondary molding such that a distal end of the projection abuts against a part of inner face of the mold. Then resin material is injected into the mold to conduct the secondary molding. The projection of the primary molded piece is deformable in accordance with inspecting pressure of the resin material. After the secondary molded piece is removed from the mold, a shape of the distal end of the projection to judge inferiority of the inspecting pressure of the resin material.

Molded connector and method for manufacturing molded connector

A connector has a connector body. A plurality of first terminal bodies are arranged within the connector body. A plurality of second terminal bodies are arranged along the first terminal bodies within the connector body at an interval between themselves and the first terminal bodies. Each of the second terminal bodies is located between the first terminal bodies and each of the first terminal bodies is located between the second terminal bodies.

Connector, method of manufacturing the same and die structure for executing the method

In order to precisely detect positions of respective lead portions of an electronic component and to reduce the cost of production of the electronic component, the electronic component has a resinous pad portion and a plurality of terminal units embedded in the pad portion. Each of the terminal units is provided with lead portions that are disposed parallel to one another with their terminal faces exposed, and junction portions for junction between bonding wires and the lead portions are formed on the terminal faces. Corner portions are formed at predetermined sections on the terminal faces. In this case, even if resin of the pad portion has adhered to the peripheries of the terminal faces and fouled the terminal faces, since the lead portions have the corner portions, images of the lead portions can be detected precisely. Accordingly, the operation of connecting the bonding wires to the terminal faces is performed more efficiently, whereby the cost of production of the electronic component can be reduced.

Method of manufacturing a connector

A connector molding method in which the accuracy of positioning of a plurality of metal terminals is enhanced, and also even if part of a housing is formed into a thickened portion, a shrink mark and a warp will not develop in the molded connector. At a first stage of the connector molding method of the invention, a plurality of male metal terminals are kept insulated from one another, and in this condition these metal terminals are insert molded, thereby forming a primary molded body. Then, at a second stage, the primary molded body is properly positioned, and is insert molded, thereby forming a secondary molded body which is a final molded product (connector). In order to prevent the development of a shrink mark and a warp due to the formation of a thickened portion of the connector, a core portion of the thickened portion is formed at the time of molding the primary molded body, and a shell portion of the thickened portion, having a generally uniform thickness of 1 mm to 2 mm, is formed at the time of molding the secondary molded body. The core portion of the primary molded body is utilized for the positioning for the second molding, and therefore the male metal terminals can be positioned highly precisely.

Connector molding method

In a resin-sealed connector, a body portion of a guide plate, provided within a housing, is partially smaller in thickness than a base portion of the guide plate, so that reinforcing ribs are formed on side surfaces of the body portion, and that a step portion is formed at the boundary between the body portion and the base portion, and the step portion serves as a mark indicative of an upper limit of filling of a sealing resin in the housing. The side surfaces of the body portion of the guide plate, including the reinforcing ribs, are discontinuous relative to side surfaces of the base portion over an entire periphery of the guide plate. The step portion, formed at the boundary between the body portion and the base portion and between the reinforcing ribs and the base portion, serves as the mark indicative of the upper limit of filling of the sealing resin.

Resin-sealed connector

A resin molding product with a nut receiving portion of the present invention has a recess 22 for receiving nuts 31 and 32 later. The recess 22 includes a pair of right and left side walls 22c and 22d which abut against outer parallel faces 31b and 32b of respective nuts 31 and 32 to prevent nuts 31 and 32 from being loosened, a pair of front and rear walls 22e which abut against front and rear end faces of respective nuts 31 of 32, a bottom walls 22b which butt against part of outer lower ends of respective nuts 31 and 32 to adjust a length of engagement of nuts 31 and 32, and a nut receiving opening 22a opposite to the bottom wall 22b. Further, the recess formed in the resin molding product includes the front wall which is formed with a notch for inserting a bolt into the nut fitted in the recess; at least one of right and left side walls which is formed with a rib 24 which is scraped by an outer parallel face of the nut when fitting the nut into the recess, and the bottom wall 22b which is formed with spaces 23a and 23b for gathering a scrap of the scraped rib 24.

Resin molding product with a nut receiving portion

A press-connecting terminal to which an insulated wire is press-connected. A pair of press-connecting blades are formed on opposite sides of the press-connecting terminal, and are arranged alternately at a predetermined interval. Each of the press-connecting blades has a contact portion which is held in contact with a side surface of a partition wall of a connector housing, and the wire is press-fitted into a space between the press-connecting blade and the side surface of the partition wall, thereby press-connecting the wire to the terminal.

A waterproof connector-mounting construction 70 includes a connector-mounting through hole 43 formed through a mounting member 41, a tapered portion 45 of a truncated-cone shape formed at the connector-mounting through hole 43, the tapered portion 45 increasing in diameter progressively toward an outer surface of the mounting member 41, a terminal 49 having a cylindrical base portion 57, a mounting plate 63 which is mounted on the terminal 49, and has at least such an area that the mounting plate 63 covers the tapered portion 45, the mounting plate 63 being parallel to the mounting member 41, and an O-ring 69 press-fitted into the tapered portion 45 in such a manner that an inner peripheral surface of the O-ring 69 is held in intimate contact with an exposed portion of the terminal, and that the O-ring 69 is pressed against the mounting plate 63.
