A magnetic head device with high joint strength in an arm and a suspension is provided. The magnetic head device comprises an arm, a suspension overlapping with a leading end part of the arm, a slider located at a leading end part of the suspension, and a joint part that is located between the leading end part of the arm and the suspension and that joins the arm and the suspension, while the joint part includes Sn.

Magnetic head device

A magnetic head device which has strong joint strength in an arm and a suspension and high accuracy of a size and a shape is provided. The magnetic head device comprises an arm, a suspension overlapping with a leading end part of the arm, a slider located at a leading end part of the suspension, and a first joint part that is placed between the leading end part of the arm and the suspension and that joins the arm and the suspension, the first joint part including Sn or a resin adhesive.

A varistorcomprises a varistor element, a pair of external electrodeson one main side of the varistor elementand a resistoron the same main side, wherein the resistoris formed so as to connect the pair of external electrodes. The varistor elementcontains zinc oxide as the main component and Ca oxides, Si oxides and rare earth metal oxides as accessory components, wherein the proportion X of the calcium oxides in terms of calcium atoms is 2-80 atomic percent with respect to 100 mol of the main component and the proportion Y of the silicon oxides in terms of silicon atoms is 1-40 atomic percent with respect to 100 mol of the main component, X/Y satisfying formula (1) below, and the external electrodes and resistor contain oxides other than bismuth oxide and copper oxide1&#x2266;&#x3c;3&#x2003;&#x2003;(1).

Varistor

A multilayer ceramic substrate includes a plurality of stacked glass ceramic layers and internal conductors. The glass ceramic layers contain at least one diffusion element selected from the group consisting of Ti, Zr and Mn. The internal conductors contain Ag as a conductive material. The multilayer ceramic substrate is produced by the steps of adding at least one diffusion element selected from the group consisting of Ti, Zr and Mn to conductive paste and diffusing the diffusion element in the glass ceramic layers around the conductive paste. As a result, defects otherwise possibly generated around the internal conductors can be eliminated with exactitude.

Multilayer ceramic substrate

A glass composition for a thick-film resistor including at least one oxide selected from CaO, SrO, and BaO in an amount of 13 mol % to 45 mol %, BOin 0 to 40 mol % (however, not including 0), SiOin 17 mol % to 72 mol % (however, not including 72 mol %), ZrOin 0 to 10 mol % (however, not including 0), and at least one oxide selected from TaOand NbOin 0 to 10 mol % (however, not including 0), a thick-film resistor paste obtained by mixing this glass composition with a conductive material and organic vehicle, a thick-film resistor obtained by printing and firing this paste and thereby being lead-free, superior in TCR and STOL, and high in resistance, and an electronic device having this thick-film resistor.

A thick-film resistor paste comprised of a resistor composition dispersed in an organic vehicle, the resistor composition containing at least one of RuOand a Ru composite oxide as a conductive material, a glass composition, a titanate compound of an alkali earth metal of any of BaTiO, CaTiO, and SrTiO, a metal material, and further optionally CuO and CuO as an additive, the formulation of the resistor composition optimized in accordance with the required resistance value, enabling realization of a thick-film resistor free of Pb and superior in TCR and STOL.

Thick-film resistor paste and thick-film resistor

A resistor paste comprised of a first glass composition substantially not including lead, a second glass composition substantially not including lead of a composition different from the first glass composition, and a conductive material substantially not including lead mixed with an organic vehicle, further including CuO as an additive in addition to the first glass composition and second glass composition. The first glass composition includes ZnO in an amount of at least 10 mol % and at least one component selected from CaO, SrO, and BaO in an amount of less than 10 mol % (including 0), the second glass composition includes MnO in an amount of at least 5 mol % and at least one component selected from CaO, SrO, and BaO in an amount of at least 10 mol %, and the total percent by volume of the first glass composition and second glass composition is 65 to 89 vol % when the volume of the powder of the total of the conductive material, first glass composition, second glass composition, and additives is 100 and the percent by volume of the conductive material is 8 to 33 vol %. According to the present invention, it is possible to provide a lead-free resistor paste suitable for obtaining a resistor having a predetermined low resistance value while being excellent in the temperature coefficient of resistance (TCR) of resistance value and reliability characteristic (flux resistance) when for example formed on a dielectric substrate having barium titanate as a main ingredient.

The invention provides an electronic device comprising a first metal layer containing a first metal converted into an oxide upon firing in an oxidizing atmosphere and a second metal layer formed by firing of a second metal particle containing a metal that is not oxidized upon firing in an oxidizing atmosphere, with an intermediate oxide layer interleaved between these two metal layers. The intermediate oxide layer contains an oxide of the first metal contained in the first metal layer. Preferably, the second metal particle contained in the second metal layer is dispersed in the intermediate oxide layer. A uniform oxide layer is obtained at a simple step, and the resistance value provided by the oxide layer is easily controllable with high precision. It is thus possible to achieve an electronic device in which the bonding strength of the oxide layer with respect to the other metal-containing layer is improved with an improvement in the bonding strength with respect to lead wires.

Conductor paste and multilayer ceramic part using the same

The invention is a conductor paste composition comprising a conductive material that contains silver as the essential component, and an inorganic binder as dispersed in a vehicle, wherein said inorganic binder contains, in terms of oxides, from 10 to 60% by weight of lead oxide (PbO), from 5 to 15% by weight of boron oxide (B.sub.2 O.sub.3), from 2 to 15% by weight of silicon oxide (SiO.sub.2), from 0.1 to 15% by weight of manganese oxide (MnO), and from 0.1 to 80% by weight of vanadium oxide (V.sub.2 O.sub.5). The invention realizes a conductor paste for outer electrodes having excellent mountability, high reliability in mounting and excellent electric properties for inner electrode co-fired, non reciprocal devices, and also realizes non reciprocal devices comprising it.
