The invention provides a formed material manufacturing method by which unnecessary thickening of a flange can be avoided. The formed material manufacturing method allows a formed material to be manufactured by forming processes that include at least one drawing-out process, at least one drawing process performed after the drawing-out process, and at least one coining process performed after the drawing process. The width of the rear end side of a punch used in the drawing-out process is set to be wider than the width of the tip end side thereof. An ironing process is performed on a region corresponding to the flange of the base metal sheet by pushing the base metal sheet together with the punch into a pushing hole.

Formed material manufacturing method and formed material

A formed material having a tubular body and a flange formed at an end of the body is manufactured by multistage drawing of a blank metal sheet. The multistage drawing includes preliminary drawing in which a preliminary body having a body preform is formed from the blank metal sheet, and at least one compression drawing which is performed after the preliminary drawing and in which the body is formed by drawing the body preform while applying a compressive force to the body preform. The at least one compression drawing is performed so as to be completed before the pad portion of pressurization means reaches bottom dead center, and a support force supporting the pad portion acts as the compressive force upon the body preform when the body preform is drawn.

Formed material manufacturing method

Provided is a method of forming a locking ridge for a case of forming the locking ridge on an outer peripheral surface of a joint portion by form rolling, the method realizing a joint portion structure which is superior in pipe detachment prevention performance when pipes with locking ridges are connected by fixing pipe ends with a housing. Using a convex roller arranged inside the workpiece pipe body and a forming circular groove arranged outside the pipe body, the locking ridge is form-rolled such that an upright wall portion thereof is raised at an angle of at least 65&#xb0; and no greater than 90&#xb0; with respect to the outer peripheral surface in the pipe axis direction, and that a height of the locking ridge from the outer peripheral surface to the apex of the tip portion is at least a total of curvature radii of faces of the processing means in contact with the pipe body.

Form rolling method for joint portion of fluid supply pipe and fluid supply pipe

When a metastable austenitic stainless steel strip with a value Md(N), which is calculated from a composition, of 20&#x2013;100 is ring-rolled to a steel belt, the relationship of &#x2212;0.3913T+0.5650Md(N)+60.46&#x3b5;&#x2267;65.87 is established among a material temperature T, an equivalent strain &#x3b5; and the value Md(N). Due to the controlled rolling, a stainless steel belt for a continuously variable transmission is bestowed with fatigue properties similar or superior to those of a 18%-Ni maraging steel belt. The value Md(N) is defined by the equation of Md(N)=580&#x2212;520C&#x2212;2Si&#x2212;16Mn&#x2212;16Cr&#x2212;23Ni&#x2212;300N&#x2212;10Mo, and the equivalent strain &#x3b5; is defined by the equation of &#x3b5;=&#x221a;{square root over (4(1n(1&#x2212;R))/3)} (R: reduction). Furthermore, the steel belt is stabilized in its quality and profile by confining a variation &#x394;T of the material temperature T within a range of &#xb1;6.4&#xb0; C.
