A drum type washing machine includes an outer cabinet, a water tub elastically supported in the outer cabinet, a drum type rotatable tub provided in the water tub to be rotated about a horizontal axis, a rotatable tub shaft extending outward from a central portion of an end plate of the rotatable tub, and an outer rotor type motor for driving the rotatable tub via the rotatable tub shaft. The motor includes a rotor mounted on an outer end of the rotatable tub shaft and a stator mounted on the water tub or a member fixed to the water tub so as to be disposed inside the rotor.

Drum type washing machine

A drum type washing machine operates based on two washing processes. In the first process, a drum-shaped spin basket is rotated by 50 R.P.M. in forward and backward directions. Next, in the second process, the spin basket is rotated by 300 R.P.M. during about 20 seconds. Thereby, washing water contained in textiles is dewatered to outside of the spin basket. These first and second processes are repeatedly by specified times.

Drum type washing machine and washing method thereof

An automatic washing machine includes an outer tub, an inner tub rotatably mounted in the outer tub and having a plurality of dehydration perforations formed in an upper end portion, a drain hole formed in the bottom of the inner tub, a valve mechanism for opening and closing the drain hole, a stopper for stopping the inner tub at a predetermined position, and a drive section mounted in the outer tub for driving the valve mechanism so that the drain hole is opened and closed, in the condition that the inner tub is stopped at the predetermined position.
