A disk cartridge storage and retrieval apparatus includes a stocker vertically disposed in a housing for storing a multitude of disk cartridges. An information recording and reproducing device is disposed in the housing in a vertically aligned relation with the stocker for recording and reproducing information onto or from a disk received in a disk cartridge. A guide shaft is vertically disposed in the housing and has an upper end thereof fixedly secured to an upper portion of the housing and a lower end thereof held free to move. A carrier mechanism is supported on the guide shaft for vertical movement therealong for transporting a disk cartridge between the stocker and the information recording and reproducing device. A vertical drive mechanism including a motor and an endless belt drives the carrier mechanism in a vertical direction along the guide shaft. Vibrations of the motor, which is installed on a housing base for driving the endless belt connected with the carrier mechanism, as well as vibrations transmitted to the housing base from external vibration sources, can be prevented from transmitting therefrom to the guide shaft, thereby ensuring the accurate operation of the carrier mechanism as well as avoiding resultant malfunctions and/or trouble thereof.

Disk cartridge storage and retrieval apparatus

A disk cartridge loading/unloading system which loads or unloads disk cartridges into or from a container in which the disk cartridges are housed. The disk cartridge includes a cartridge holder, an open/close cover, and a drawing member. The cartridge holder is capable of rotating between a store position of the disk cartridge in the container and an unloading position for unloading the disk cartridge, and is also capable of retaining the disk cartridge. The open/close cover, rotatably attached to the front end of the cartridge holder, closes an opening for a disk entrance when the disk cartridge is in the store position. The drawing member is provided in such a manner that one end of the drawing member is pivotally connected to the open/close cover, and the other end of the drawing member has a stop click for drawing the cartridge. As the open/close cover is rotated, the drawing member is caused to shift toward the front end of the cartridge holder.

Disk cartridge loadings/unloading system

A disk-storage device comprising a conveying mechanism having a plurality of clutching sections for clutching cartridges; a plurality of recording/reproducing units for recording and reproducing information on and from disks in the cartridges; and a plurality of lodging shelves for lodging cartridges. The number of recording/reproducing units and of lodging shelves is the same as the number of clutching sections, these three categories of components being arranged in the same positional relationship. They are all contained in a case having cartridge-supply/discharge openings through which cartridges are put into and taken out of the device. To enable a plurality of cartridges to be simultaneously held by the clutching sections of the conveying mechanism, a plurality of loading mechanisms temporarily hold cartridges, adjusting their positions accordingly. The cartridge-supply/discharge openings and the loading mechanisms are arranged in the same positional relationship. The device further comprises a divisional recording means adapted to time-divide information from the exterior and to distribute the information thus divided to the recording/reproducing units so as to record it on the disks in the cartridges, and a synthetic reproduction means adapted to synthesize information recorded on the disks by the recording/reproducing units in predetermined equal periods and to transmit it to the exterior.

Disk-storage device

A disc file apparatus which holds a cartridge at both surfaces thereof through a slit formed from an open end to a closed end of a bill-like-shaped cartridge holder, clamps by clampers the cartridge at both lateral sides thereof, and renders the axis of rotation of a pick-up and discharge mechanism shifted from the center of gravity thereof so as to regulate rotation of the cartridge holder by a stopper in a range of an angle of 180.degree., whereby when the catridge is turned over or even when the same is subjected to an impact from the exterior, the cartridge is reliably held so that there is no fear that the rotational position thereof is shifted. The disc file apparatus uses linear ball bearing at each movable part and makes stand-by the utmost end of the clamper as close as possible to a stocker or a recording and reproducing system, thereby improving the processing speed as a whole, and furthermore temporarily makes stand-by the cartridge discharged from the recording and reproducing system just above an insertion and discharge port thereof by a transfer mechanism, thereby enabling a processing time to be reduced when a plurality of cartridges are continuously fed to the recording and reproducing system.

Disc file apparatus

A surge arrester disconnecting device which includes a fixed electrode, a movable electrode, and a latch device for holding the two electrodes in engagement. A trigger device, associated with a first spring and a fusible wire stretched between the movable electrode and the trigger device, releases the latch when the fusible wire is melted by continuation current therethrough. Upon trigger actuation and latch release, a second spring assists in the non-explosive disconnection of the movable electrode.

Arrester disconnecting device

An inserting and retrieving mechanism of a 'Juke Box' type disc memory device includes a movable body which has pushing members adapted to push a cartridge into a stocker or a recording and reproducing device of the disc memory device and a pair of clampers adapted to pull out the cartridge from the stocker or recording and reproducing device in association with engaging recesses formed on the cartridge, a driving means for opening and closing the clampers through a toggle means arranged symmetrically about the driving means, a first position sensor provided on the inserting and retrieving mechanism for detecting a position of a rear end of the cartridge when it reaches a position in which the clampers are ready to clamp the cartridge and a second position sensor provided in the stocker and/or the recording and reproducing device for detecting a position of a front end of the cartridge when it reaches a position in which the cartridge is ready to be released. The inserting and retrieving mechanism may have a pair of cartridge holding portions so that a pair of cartridges are to be handled, simultaneously.

Disc memory device

Three leg tablelets are disposed on a vertically movable truck extending in parallel spaced relationship in a longitudinal direction with a yoke tablelet located along one side of the truck in a cross direction. Two parallel spaced conveyors are disposed above the leg tablelets to have two positions in each of which they are vertically aligned with either one of the outer leg tablelets and the central leg tablelet. A magnet is normally located to each of the conveyors to magnetically attract a magnetic lamination to the travelling conveyors to move it to a predetermined position relative to the aligned leg tablelet whereupon the conveyors are stopped. The magnet can be lifted after or before a change in position of the conveyors in the cross direction, to cause the magnetic lamination to fall on the mating leg tablelet. Each of two robots disposed adjacent to the yoke tablelets for cooperation with a corresponding positioning element to dispose magnetic laminations separately conveyed at a predetermined position on the yoke tablelet. In use the operations are repeated to stack the magnetic laminations into an E-shaped iron core.

Apparatus for manufacturing iron core

An operation mechanism comprises an input shaft connected to a first resilient member for storing and releasing energy required for a reciprocal movement of a drivable member and an output shaft connected to a second resilient member for storing and releasing energy required for returning the drivable member. The ends of both shafts are coaxially faced and a clutch for interlocking the ends of the shafts with a free rotation for a half turn is formed and an output rod connected to the output shaft is reciprocally moved during an intermittent movement of the input shaft and the output shaft for about a half turn in a specific direction.

Operation mechanism

A cylindrical movable member is forcedly fitted into two spaced annular leaf springs and disposed within a main detector body on its longitudinal axis with the lower end of the movable member put in point contact with the bottom of the main body. The leaf springs have outer peripheries fixed to the peripheral wall of the main body. The upper end of the movable member faces an operating rod for a limit switch having a spacing between them.
