A high-quality protective film for a dry film resist is provided. A film of a polyethylene is used as the protective film, the polyethylene being prepared by pressurizing ethylene with use of an ultra-high pressure compressor and then polymerizing the ethylene at a reaction temperature of 190&#xb0; to 300&#xb0; C. and a reaction pressure of not lower than 167 MPa in the presence of a radical polymerization initiator, or by pressuring ethylene with use of an ultra-high pressure compressor and then polymerizing the ethylene at a reaction temperature of 190&#xb0; to 300&#xb0; C. in the presence of a radical polymerization initiator while allowing a radical polymerization inhibitor to be present in the reaction system.

Protective film and method for preparing same

A high-quality protective film for a dry film resist is provided. A film of a polyethylene is used as the protective film, the polyethylene being prepared by pressurizing ethylene with use of an ultra-high pressure compressor and then polymerizing the ethylene at a reaction temperature of 190&deg; to 300&deg; C. and a reaction pressure of not lower than 167 MPa in the presence of a radical polymerization initiator, or by pressuring ethylene with use of an ultra-high pressure compressor and then polymerizing the ethylene at a reaction temperature of 190&deg; to 300&deg; C. in the presence of a radical polymerization initiator while allowing a radical polymerization inhibitor to be present in the reaction system.

A multilayered laminate which comprises (A) at least one thermoplastic resin layer of an ethylenic copolymer having ethylene and at least one of acrylamide derivatives, methacrylamide derivatives, ester monomers, ether compounds, acid compounds having an unsaturated bond between carbon atoms, and mixtures thereof; (B) other thermoplastic resin layers; and (C) a hydroscopic gas barrier intermediate layer and a method of improving the transparency of polypropylene.

A laminate suitable for use as wrapping or packaging materials for foods and industrial materials is disclosed, which is produced by laminating a thermoplastic resin composition which comprises (1) 10 to 95 % by weight of an ethylene copolymer composed mainly of units derived from ethylene and units derived from an unsaturated carboxylic acid anhydride and (2) 70 to 5 % by weight of a flexible resin having an MFR (190.degree. C.) of 0.1 to 1,000 g/10 min, to one or more kinds of substrates selected from thermoplastic resins, metals, papers, and fabrics. A process for efficiently producing the laminate is also disclosed.
