A current feed-through for an electrically heatable catalytic converter, wherein the catalytic converter has in the interior thereof at least one electrical conductor, which is electrically contactable by the current feed-through, having a central electrically conductive element, which is guided from the interior of the catalytic converter through the outer housing wall thereof, having an electrical insulation layer, which surrounds the electrically conductive element on its radial outer face, and having a metallic sleeve, in which the electrically conductive element and the electrical insulation layer is received, wherein at the current feed-through or directly adjacently to the current feed-through there is arranged a device for reducing the heat conduction from the interior of the catalytic converter along the current feed-through to a contact face arranged outside the catalytic converter.

Electrical current feed-through

A device for the aftertreatment of exhaust gases of an internal combustion engine, having at least one catalytic converter, through which exhaust gas can flow, and at least one muffler formed by a closed volume and through which exhaust gas can flow along an inflow section to an outflow section. The catalytic converter is formed by a honeycomb body that has a plurality of flow channels through which exhaust gas can flow. The honeycomb body is accommodated in a casing tube, which surrounds the honeycomb body, and is connected to the casing tube in a materially bonded manner. The catalytic converter is arranged in the interior of the muffler.

Exhaust gas aftertreatment device

A method for producing metallic honeycomb bodies contains the step of stacking and/or winding of at least partially structured metallic foils to form a honeycomb structure with channels. The metallic foils are heated using at least one radiant heater from the open front face of the channels, whereby at least one subsection of the honeycomb structure is heated to such a degree that the subsection reaches a temperature of between 800&#xb0; C. and 1200&#xb0; C. after 5 to 30 seconds. The metallic foils are interconnected in a subsection using a commercial jointing process. A device for producing metallic honeycomb bodies using at least one radiant heater is used in the process.
