Disclosed is the use of UV absorbers selected from (a) diphenylacrylates; (a) hydroxyphenyl triazines of formula (1), in which R, Rand Rindependently of one another, are C-Calkyl; (a) benzotriazole derivatives of formula (2), wherein Ris a random statistical mixture of at least three isomeric branched secondary alkyl groups each having 8 to 30 carbon atoms and having the formula (2a); Eis a straight-chain C-Calkyl; Eis a straight-chain C-Calkyl; wherein the total number of carbon atoms in Eplus Eis from 7 to 29; and Ris C-Calkyl; and (a) di-alkyl naphthalate; for stabilizing cosmetic compositions comprising (b) symmetrical triazine derivatives of formula (3), wherein A is a radical of formula (3a); or (3b) Rand Rindependently from each other are hydrogen; C-Calkyl; or C-Caryl; R, Rand Rindependently from each other are hydrogen; or a radical of formula (3c), wherein, in formula (3a), at least one of the radicals R, Rand Rare a radical of formula (3c); R, R, Rand Rindependently from each other are hydrogen; hydroxy; halogen; C-Calkyl; C-Calkoxy; C-Caryl; biphenylyl; C-Caryloxy; C-Calkylthio; carboxy; &#x2014;COOM; C-C-alkylcarboxyl; aminocarbonyl; mono- or di-C-Calkylamino; C-Cacylamino; or &#x2014;COOH; M is an alkali metal ion; x is 1 or 2; and y is a number from 2 to 10; and a UV-absorber selected from (c) cinnamic acid derivatives; and (C) dibenzoylmethane derivatives. 

Stabilization of cosmetic compositions

Use of benzotriazole derivatives of formula (1), wherein Ris C-Calkyl; CCalkoxy; C-Calkoxycarbonyl; C-Ccycloalkyl; C-Caryl; aralkyl; &#x2014;SOM; a radical of formula (1) Ris hydrogen; CCalkyl; CCalkoxy; halogen, preferably Cl; or hydroxy; Rand Rare each independently of the other hydrogen; or d-Calkyl; m is 1 or 2; n is O or 1; if m=1, Ris hydrogen; unsubstituted or phenyl-substituted d-C-Calkyl; or C-Caryl; if m=2, R2 is the direct bond; or &#x2014;(CH)&#x2014;; and p is 1 to 3; for enhancing the photostability of cosmetic or dermatologic compositions comprising at least one further organic UV absorber. 

Use of benzotriazole derivatives for photostabilisation

Disclosed is the use of an effective photo-stabilizing amount of stabilizing agent (a) selected from a diphenylacrylate UV filter (a1), a benzylidene amphor derivative (a2), an organosiloxane comprising benzalemalonate groups (a3), a fluoren derivative (a4), and a naphthalene dicarboxylic acid derivative (a5) for improving the stability with respect to UV radiation of a cosmetic or dermatological composition comprising a UV filter combination of at least one dibenzoylmethane derivative (b) and of at least one specific amino-substituted 2-hydroxybenzophenone derivative (c).
