The present invention relates to an adhesive polyethylene composition comprising (A) from 60 to 90 wt % of a non-elastomeric polyethylene; (B) from 9.0 to 38 wt % of an ethylene based elastomer being a copolymer of ethylene and alpha-olefin comonomer units having from 4 to 12 carbon atoms; wherein onto component (A) or components (A) and (B) an acid grafting agent (C) has been grafted in an amount of from 0.01 to 3.0 wt %, all based on the total weight of the adhesive polyethylene composition, a multi-layer structure comprising said adhesive polyethylene composition and the use of said adhesive polyethylene composition for the production of a multi-layer structure.

The present invention relates to a propylene polymer composition comprising a long chain branched propylene polymer, wherein said propylene polymer composition has a) a xylene hot insolubles (XHU) fraction in an amount of less than 1.0%, based on 5 the total weight amount of the propylene polymer composition, b) a melting temperature Tm of less than 160° C., c) a crystallization temperature Tc of at least 115° C., and d) a F30 melt strength of from 5.0 to less than 30.0 cN, a process for producing said propylene polymer composition by reactive modification of a propylene polymer in the presence of a peroxide, an article comprising said propylene polymer composition and the use of said propylene polymer composition for producing an article.

Long-chain branched propylene polymer composition

Disclosed is a process for producing a propylene polymer composition, which includes (a) polymerizing propylene in the presence of a polymerization catalyst to produce a propylene polymer; (b) recovering the propylene polymer, wherein the recovered propylene polymer has a xylene cold solubles (XCS) fraction in an amount of less than 3.0 wt. % based on the total weight amount of the recovered propylene polymer; (c) extruding the propylene polymer in the presence of a peroxide for introducing long chain branching into the propylene polymer to form a propylene polymer composition; and (d) recovering the propylene polymer composition, wherein the recovered propylene polymer composition of step (d) has a lower melt flow rate MFR(230°° C., 2.16 kg) compared to the recovered propylene polymer of step (b). Also disclosed is an article comprising said propylene polymer composition.

Process for producing a polymer composition, a polymer composition obtainable by said process and the use of said polymer composition as adhesive polymer composition and for the production of a multilayer structure, such as a three-layer metal pipe coating, with improved peel strength.

Process for producing a polymer composition

The present invention relates to a polymer composition comprising (A) from 60 to 90 wt % of a non-elastomeric polyethylene; (B) from 9.0 to 38 wt % of an elastomer; wherein onto component (A) or components (A) and (B) an acid grafting agent (C) has been grafted in an amount of from 0.01 to 3.0 wt %, all based on the total weight of the polymer composition, and wherein the polymer composition has two distinct peaks and a valley between said peaks in the GPC curve and a Z value, determined from the areas below the two peaks of the GPC curve, of at least −0.3, wherein the Z-value is determined according to formula (I) Z=s/Abs(B−A) (I) wherein Abs(B−A) is the absolute value of (B−A); A=the area, between the tangent parallel to the MW axis going through log M (Min) and the LS15 signal, from log M of 5.1 to log M value where the LS signal is minimum log M (Min), in the log M range between 5.1 and 6; B=the area, between the tangent parallel to the MW axis going through log M (Min) and the LS 15 signal, from log M(Min) to the point where the LS signal is crossed again; and s is the slope between the two peaks of the GPC curve, defined at log M of 5.1 and 6, wherein the GPC curve is defined as the concentration normalized LS 15 signal along the molecular weight of conventional GPC, obtained from the GPC-VISC-LS analysis, a multi-layer structure such as a coated metal pipe, comprising one layer comprising said polymer composition and the use of said polymer composition as adhesive polymer composition and for the production of a multi-layer structure.

A polymer composition comprising a blend of two or more high density polyethylenes: (A) a first high density polyethylene having a density of at least 940 kg/mand an MFRof 0.25 g/10 min or less; and (B) a second high density polyethylene having a density of at least 940 kg/mand an MFRof 1.0 g/10 min to 20 g/10 min; wherein said polymer composition has an MFRof 0.25 to 15 g/10 min and wherein the components (A) and (B) combined form at least 91 wt % of said polymer composition.

The present invention provides a process for extruding and pelletising a propylene copolymer. The copolymer has a content of comonomer from 5 to 40% by mole, a melt flow rate MFRmeasured at 230&#xb0; C. under a load of 2.16 kg of from 0.5 to 15 g/10 min and a content of cold xylene soluble material of from 20 to 60% by weight. The process comprises extruding the propylene copolymer through a die plate into an underwater pelletiser and cutting strands of the propylene copolymer into pellets in the underwater pelletiser, wherein the ratio of the mass flow rate of the propylene copolymer to the mass flow rate of the cooling water is from 0.020 to 0.060; and the propylene copolymer comprises a polymeric nucleating agent.
