Techniques monitoring and preventing a patient conditions include a sensing module, a storage module, an analysis module and a visualization module. The sensing module receives, from a sensor, samples that indicate measurements suitable for a condition of a patient and storing sample data in a local buffer. The storage module is configured to receive a sample data packet indicating sample type, patient identifier, device identifier, timestamp, and sample value, and to store them into a sample data structure. The analysis module is configured to determine a metric based on the sample value, and to store into that into a metric data structure metric type, patient identifier, device identifier, timestamp, and metric value. The visualization module is configured to present the sample or the metric on a display device configured to be viewed by a caregiver for the patient.

Device-insulated monitoring of patient condition

Techniques for patient pressure injury prevention (PPIP) include receiving, from a plurality of pressure sensors configured to be disposed in a spatial arrangement in contact with a patient, samples that indicate pressure measurements by the plurality of sensors at each of a plurality of different times. At each of the plurality of different times an angular orientation of the pressure is determined based on the samples. A change in the angular orientation of the pressure is determined at each successive time of the plurality of different times. A value of a patient movement parameter is determined based on the change in angular orientation of the pressure. A pressure injury category for the patient based on the value of the patient movement parameter is presented on a display device for a caregiver. Treatment of the patient by the caregiver is based on the pressure injury category.

Techniques for patient pressure injury prevention

A method and apparatus for efficient deployment of nodes in a network includes obtaining first data that indicates first locations of nodes in a network and terrain data that indicates height of terrain at terrain locations. The method further includes determining an exploration region for a first node and dividing the exploration region into subregions. The method further includes determining a proxy location for each subregion that is a location corresponding to a characteristic of the terrain data in the subregion. The method further includes determining a value of a parameter that indicates a contribution of the first node at each proxy location to network fitness. The method further includes assigning a second location to the first node based on the determined parameter value at each proxy location. The method further includes relocating the first node from the first location to the second location.

Apparatus and method for efficient deployment of nodes in a network

Techniques for avoiding packet collision in wireless communications networks include initializing a first data indicating a plurality of fixed delay values in a range from a minimum delay to a maximum delay and indicating a corresponding plurality of adjustable weights. A first applied delay for a first packet is determined based on the first data. The first packet if transmitted at a time based on the first applied delay. Based on whether transmission of the first packet was successful the first data is adjusted by reducing a first weight of the plurality of adjustable weights for a corresponding first fixed delay value greater than the first applied delay, or by increasing a second weight of the plurality of adjustable weights for a corresponding second fixed delay value smaller than the first applied delay, or both.

Dynamic tuning of contention windows in computer networks

Techniques for efficient communication packet generation in internet of things (IOT) include presenting an application programming interface to each of a plurality of protocols in a plurality of different layers of a network communications protocol stack. A single packet buffer is configured in memory to hold headers for all of the plurality of protocols for a packet directed to a first destination node. Pointers are also stored in memory to tables maintained by the plurality of protocols. In response to receiving input at the application programming interface from a first protocol, at least one bit is updated in the single packet buffer based on the input and on data in a table maintained by a different second protocol of the plurality of protocols.
