The present invention provides methods for the control of insect pests in the vicinity of feces or manure of a domestic animal. Such methods comprise orally administering cyromazine, wherein said administering results in the presence of an insecticidal amount of cyromazine in the feces of the animal being treated. The present invention further provides methods for inhibiting the development of fly larvae on feces or manure of a domestic animal.
