Embodiments describe a system and method for presenting a data visualization using, at least in part, social network metrics. The social network metrics can include components such as a social connection score, a social content score and a social conversation score. Further details and values of the metrics can include a number of social network connections that an individual has in their social network, a number of content followers of the individual, a number of social network spaces to which the individual belongs, an indication of how a human resource interacts with others within a social network, a number of bookmarks shared, a number of tags added to particular areas of interest, a number of tags added to certain areas of expertise, and others.

The present application present systems and methods for leveraging existing sources of information to supplement and enhance job opening postings and other types of business postings. A plurality of sources, including social network sites, talent profiles, and/or surveys and questionnaires are accessed in order to retrieve data relating to a business object. The retrieved data is transformed, such that it may be used to supplement job opening postings and other types of postings with job description data, work culture data, and other business-related data in order to build a social brand for the business.

A system and method for facilitating mentoring in an enterprise. A system and method for example method for displaying enterprise data via a user interface display. An example method includes providing a first user option to select enterprise data to be displayed, yielding selected data in response thereto; employing a capsule to present a visualization or infographic characterizing at least a portion of the selected data; and providing a second user option to flip or rotate the capsule, thereby displaying additional enterprise data that is related to or representative of the selected data or portion thereof. In a specific embodiment, the first user option includes a slider bar that enables a user to specify a time frame to filter the enterprise data.

Techniques for distributing information over a network having a database in data communication with said network include a method that records in the database a plurality of computer readable profiles. Each computer readable profile corresponds to one of multiple users of the network. One of the computer readable files includes a query term that is associated with it. Generated on a common user interface are both perceivable stimuli in response to activity on said network of users corresponding to subgroup of the plurality of computer readable profiles, and information corresponding to computer readable profiles of the subgroup. The corresponding users of the subgroup possess knowledge related to the query term. A region of the user interface in which the perceivable stimuli is present defines an activity stream region. A region of the user interface in which said information is present defines a connections region of the user interface.

Techniques for distributing information over a network

A system to create tags for tag cloud displays includes an authentication service to authenticate a user. The system includes a set of valid resources stored in a database system. A tag creation tool permits the authenticated user to create at least one tag that serves to identify a selected resource within the set of valid resources. Each tag includes a weighted value. Each tag may include a public attribute that indicates that the tag is accessible to authenticated users and non-authenticated users. Alternatively, each tag may include a private attribute that indicates that the tag is only accessible to the authenticated user. A user interface displays tags in a tag cloud in accordance with attributes of the tags and weighted values of the tags.
