A refrigerator appliance, as provided herein, may include a cabinet, a door, a dispensing assembly, a heating element, and a controller. The controller may be configured to initiate a dispensing operation. The dispensing operation may include providing a first time, TIME-1, by which a fluid is to be ready at a first temperature, TEMP-1, within the cabinet; ascertaining a first time period, &#x394;t1, required to heat the fluid to at least the first temperature, TEMP-1; initiating detection of a container within a dispenser recess prior to the first time, TIME-1; and directing a heating element prior to the first time, TIME-1, based on initiating detection of the container.

Refrigerator appliance with timed preheating for dispensed fluids

A passive fluid treatment assembly is provided including a passive treatment body defining a primary flow path and a liquid treatment path. The liquid treatment path bypasses a portion of the primary flow path and enters a treatment enclosure through a high pressure port. The fluid entering the high pressure port is treated by a treatment media in the treatment enclosure and exits through a low pressure port into a mixing chamber where it is remixed with the fluid in the primary flow path. A one-way valve is operably coupled to an outlet of the high pressure port for preventing the flow of treated fluid from exiting the treatment enclosure through the high pressure port.

Passive fluid treatment assembly

A refrigerator appliance includes a dispensing assembly mounted to a dispenser recess for providing a flow of water. The dispensing assembly includes a flexible hose that is movable between an extended position and a retracted position and a retraction mechanism for urging the flexible hose toward the retracted position. A dispensing nozzle is fluidly coupled to an end of the flexible hose and is mounted to an external container by a mechanical clip. The flow of water may be activated by a button or voice activation system.

Dispensing assembly for a refrigerator appliance

A cooling system for an oven appliance is provided. The oven appliance includes an insulated chamber positioned within a cabinet such that a plurality of air flow passageways are defined therebetween. A control panel is positioned at a top, front of the oven appliance and defines an electronics chamber which is in fluid communication with a side air flow passageway. An exhaust duct is positioned between the insulated chamber and the cabinet and is placed in fluid communication with the electronics chamber. An exhaust fan is positioned within the duct and is configured for drawing cooling air through the side air flow passageway, into the electronics chamber, and through the exhaust duct to an outlet where it is exhausted from the oven appliance.

Cooling system for an oven appliance

A drawer assembly for a consumer appliance is provided. The drawer assembly includes an anti-racking system for minimizing misalignment of an appliance drawer. More particularly, the present subject matter provides a drawer slide assembly for a drawer having some horizontal flexibility. The drawer slide assembly may have a pinion gear and connecting rod assembly that minimizes racking of the appliance drawer as it is moved into and out an appliance chamber. The appliance drawer may be attached to the appliance chamber by a ball and joint pinion gear configuration that adds another degree of freedom to the anti-racking system in order to reduce stress on the pinion gear. By adding an additional degree of freedom to the pinion gear and reducing the imposed stresses applied to the pinion gear, the performance and lifetime of the drawer assembly may be improved.
