Systems, devices, and methods including balloon catheters are described. In one embodiments, a balloon catheter assembly may comprise a tubular member having a proximal portion and a distal portion with a lumen extending between the proximal portion and the distal portion and a balloon member having a proximal waist portion, a distal waist portion, and an expandable region therebetween, the balloon member disposed proximate the distal portion of the tubular member and bonded to tubular member. The assembly may further comprise a first sleeve member covering a first portion of the tubular member and a portion of the balloon member proximal waist portion and a second sleeve member covering a second portion of the tubular member and a portion of the first sleeve member.

Balloon catheter

Medical devices and methods for making and using medical devices are disclosed. An example medical device may include a catheter. The catheter may include a catheter shaft and a balloon. The balloon may comprise a cone portion, a waist portion, and a body portion. A fiber braid may be disposed along the balloon. An inner surface of the waist portion may be thermally bonded to an outer surface of the catheter shaft and an inner surface of the fiber braid may be adhesively bonded to an outer surface of the waist portion.

Catheter assemblies and methods for making and using catheter assemblies are disclosed. An example a catheter assembly includes a catheter shaft and a balloon attached to the catheter shaft. The balloon includes a body and a proximal waist portion. The proximal waist portion has a proximal end. The catheter assembly also has a fiber braid including one or more individual filaments disposed along the balloon. The fiber braid has a proximal end aligned with the proximal end of the waist portion. The catheter assembly also has a polymer sleeve disposed on the catheter shaft, wherein in the polymer sleeve abuts the proximal end of the balloon waist and the proximal end of the braid.

Stent delivery systems and methods for making and using stent delivery systems are disclosed. An example stent delivery system may include an inner member. A sheath may be disposed about the inner member. The sheath may include a compressible coil. A stent may be disposed between the inner member and the sheath. A membrane may extend between the inner member and the sheath. The membrane may be configured to be disposed on the stent. An outer member may be disposed over the sheath.

A catheter tip assembly comprises a marker band and a catheter tip. The catheter tip has an inner lumen therethrough and an outer portion and an inner portion with the marker band disposed therebetween.

A catheter assembly includes a main catheter branch having a catheter shaft and a distal end portion. A main balloon and a side balloon are positioned at the distal end portion of the catheter shaft. The main balloon includes a distal waist portion at a distal end thereof and a proximal waist portion at a proximal end thereof. The side balloon includes an inflatable portion, a proximal waist portion, and a distal waist portion, wherein the proximal and distal waist portions define a side inflation lumen. The proximal waist portion of the side balloon and the proximal waist portion of the main balloon are secured to the distal end portion of the catheter shaft at a single bond or connection point to create a proximal balloon joint, wherein the main inflation lumen is in fluid communication with the main balloon and the side inflation lumen.

An intravascular occlusion balloon catheter having a removable hub, a profile sized to approximate a guidewire, and a means for venting air from the balloon. The removable hub and the small profile allow the occlusion balloon catheter to be used as a guidewire. The venting means allows air to be easily and reliably removed from the balloon prior to use.

Devices and methods for managing a portion of an intravascular catheter which is extending from the body of a patient under operating room conditions (e.g., while a physician is wearing surgical gloves). A catheter in accordance with one embodiment of the present invention includes a catheter shaft having a proximal end and a distal end, and a keeper fixed to the catheter proximate a proximal end thereof The keeper includes one or more inside surfaces defining a channel which is adapted to entrap a straight portion of the catheter shaft. The keeper also includes a passageway which is adapted to allow a curved portion of the catheter to pass into the channel of the keeper.

A method of fabricating a catheter shaft having one or more guidewire ports is disclosed. A method in accordance with the present invention includes the steps of cutting the wall of a first shaft portion to create an opening defined by the wall of the first shaft portion, inserting the proximal end of an inner member through the opening defined by the wall of the first shaft portion, inserting the distal end of the inner member into the lumen of a second shaft portion, inserting the bonding end the second shaft portion into a lumen defined by first shaft portion, and bonding the bonding portion of the first shaft portion to the bonding portion of the second shaft portion.

Methods of fabricating a catheter shaft having one or more guidewire ports

A dilation catheter having a first shaft section, a second shaft section attached to the first shaft section, and an inflatable balloon attached to the second shaft section. A fluid pathway is defined through the catheter for inflation of the balloon. A guide wire lumen is provided in the second shaft section that can extend between the distal end of the balloon and a point distal of the first shaft section. A stiffening member is provided within the second shaft section of the dilation catheter to provide additional stiffness to the second shaft section. In a preferred embodiment, the stiffening member is attached at the distal end of the first shaft section to occlude the hollow passage of the first shaft section. In this embodiment, the first shaft section farther includes a fluid port that is proximal of the stiffening member and that extends between the hollow passage of the first shaft section and the exterior of the first shaft section. The second shaft section overlaps the first shaft section so that the hollow passage of the second shaft section is in fluid communication with the fluid port of the first shaft section to define the fluid flow pathway. The stiffening member is free from fixed interconnection at its distal end, and includes a linear tapered region along a portion of its length to provide a gradient of stiffness to the second shaft section along the length of the stiffening member.
