A coating composition is provided comprising nanoparticles and certain silane compounds. When applied to articles, particularly glass articles, the coating that is formed is resistant to soiling by both dry dust and wet soil.

The present application is directed to a method of making an article. The method comprises coating a composition to a surface of a substrate. The coating composition comprises an aqueous continuous liquid phase, a silica nano-particle dispersed in the aqueous continuous liquid phase, and a polymer latex dispersion. The coated substrate is then heated to at least 300&#xb0; C.

In general, the disclosure describes an RFID tag designed such that the tag is both covert and not easily blocked from the interrogation signal by the hand or other body part of a person. In particular, the RFID tag is designed to have a long, narrow aspect that allows placement of the tag in locations on or in a book that are inconspicuous to the casual observer while extending beyond a hand of a person holding the book by the spine on or near a geometry centerline. The RFID tag includes a dipole segment and a loop segment coupled to the dipole segment. The loop segment of the modified dipole antenna provides the antenna with larger signal strength than conventional dipole antennas. Moreover, the conductive loop segment also provides improved impedance matching capabilities to allow the modified dipole antenna to match the impedance of an integrated circuit (IC) chip of the RFID tag.

Folded radio frequency identification tag devices and methods for high-volume, low-cost production are disclosed. The folded construction of the devices and methods of the present invention can reduce the complexity of the RFID tags by providing a one-sided circuit design. The resonant frequency of the circuits formed on the devices may be tuned by severing selected connections to one or more tuning capacitor plates that form a part of the capacitor structure. Severing connections to the tuning capacitor plates changes the capacitance of the circuit which, in turn, changes the resonant frequency of the circuit.

Optionally, the polymer of the microspheres can be crosslinked. The microspheres can be prepared by suspension or dispersion polymerization processes using aqueous or organic reaction media. Powder coatings can be prepared from the microspheres.
