Techniques are disclosed for assisting in positioning an accessory unit on a patient for a magnetic resonance examination. Also disclosed is a magnetic resonance apparatus, which is designed to perform a method for assisting in positioning an accessory unit on a patient for a magnetic resonance examination. Method for positioning of an accessory unit on a patient for a magnetic resonance examination

In an magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) system and a method for controlling a magnetic field gradient applied in the MRI system during an imaging sequence, a first gradient parameter representing a first maximum value of the applicable magnetic field gradients applied over time is determined in view heat generated by the applied magnetic field gradients. A second gradient parameter representing a second maximum value of the applicable magnetic field gradients applied over time is also determined in view heat generated by the applied magnetic field gradients, the second maximum value being different from the first maximum value. A current operating parameter of the MRI system is determined, and either the first gradient parameter or the second gradient parameter is selected for the imaging sequence, dependent on the determined current operating parameter.

Magnetic resonance apparatus and gradient magnetic field-dependent control thereof

In a method and apparatus for determining measurement protocol parameters of a magnetic resonance (MR) image, a first MR image exhibiting first contrast properties, is read into a computer and at least one first contrast ratio is determined in the computer from the first contrast properties. The computer then determines the measurement protocol parameters dependent on the at least one first contrast ratio, in order to generate a second MR image exhibiting second contrast properties such that the second contrast properties approximate, as closely as possible, to the first contrast properties. The measurement protocol parameters are presented as an output from the computer.

Automatic detection and setting of magnetic resonance protocols based on read-in image data

A method and a magnetic resonance apparatus compensate for inhomogeneities in a magnetic field generated by the magnetic resonance apparatus with a shim coil of the magnetic resonance apparatus. The shim coil is arranged at an object under investigation. A position and an orientation of the shim coil are automatically determined. The inhomogeneities of the magnetic field are determined. The inhomogeneities are compensated for via the shim coil depending on the position and the orientation of the shim coil.

Method, system and magnetic resonance apparatus for compensating for inhomogeneities in the magnetic field

A magnetic resonance facility is provided. The magnetic resonance facility includes at least one object table configured to mount an object to be examined and at least one coil facility embodied separately from the object table, which includes at least one local coil and at least one connecting portion, which may be introduced into at least one recess of the object table and may be held there to hold the coil facility. The connecting portion in the recess is guided displaceably along a longitudinal direction of the recess between different positions in which it may be held. At least one coil-facility-side connecting device is arranged on the connecting portion and may establish an electrical connection for the power supply and/or for signal transmission between the coil facility and the object table and/or at least one optical connection for signal transmission between the coil facility and the object table.

Magnetic resonance facility

An accessory comprises at least one first electrical accessory port for connection to a respective matching electrical coil port of an MR coil and at least one second electrical accessory port for connection to a respective matching electrical device port of an MR device. The first accessory port and the second accessory port do not match one another. The respective first accessory port is connected to the associated second accessory port by electrical adaptation.
