A medical device for interacting with a patient's cervix is provided. The device includes a grasper configured to allow gripping and compression of a patient's cervix when disposed proximate a patient's cervix and an elongate catheter comprising a distal portion that is selectively releasably connectable to the grasper. The grasper is adapted to interact with at least a portion of a patient's cervix when deployed, and a flexible member that extends from a first end portion of the grasper, with a proximal end portion retained by the grasper and an opposite distal end portion extending away from the grasper to a distal tip.

Cervical cerclage assistance device

A drainage catheter includes an elongated tubular member and a locking assembly. The locking assembly includes a first protruding element and a collar. The first protruding element is disposed proximal to a port in the tubular member through which a proximal portion of a tension member may exit. The collar is coaxially disposed about the tubular member and has a second protruding element projecting from an interior surface of the collar. The collar is configured for longitudinal sliding movement relative to the tubular member such that the collar may be moved along the tubular member toward the proximal end of the tubular member thereby interacting with the first protruding element and securing the proximal portion of the tension member between the first protruding element and the collar.

Locking assembly for a drainage catheter

A device for use with a uterine tamponade apparatus, such as the Bakri postpartum hemorrhage balloon, is disclosed. The device comprises an adjustable anchor for deployment within the vagina to securely retain the balloon in its proper position within the uterine cavity, allowing the balloon to function as intended for the control and management of postpartum hemorrhage and uterine bleeding. Methods of use of the vaginal anchor are also disclosed.

Adjustable vaginal anchor for uterine tamponade device and methods of using the same

A surgical bag device is provided. The device includes a surgical bag with a pocket at the open top and elongate biasing member disposed in conjunction with the pocket and translatable between a first open position where the biasing member extends through a substantial portion of a circumference of the pocket, to a second closed position. An elongate push rod with a distal end portion is fixed to the biasing member and an opposite proximal end portion operatively engaged with a movable plunger within a housing. The push rod is translatable as urged by the plunger between a distal position extending the biasing member into the pocket and a proximal position withdrawing the biasing member from the pocket. The push rod comprises a plurality of longitudinally spaced teeth disposed thereon, which are meshingly engagable with a plurality of teeth from a corresponding first set of teeth of a pinion gear.

Surgical bag device and remote operating mechanism

The present invention provides devices for safely closing an opening in tissue. In one embodiment, the medical device includes a delivery tube, a control member and a staple. The delivery tube is elongated and extends from a proximal end to a distal end to define a longitudinal axis. The delivery tube defines a tube lumen, while the control member is elongated and extends through the tube lumen. The staple is releasably attached to the control member adjacent the distal end of the delivery tube. The staple formed of a resilient material having a C-shape, the C-shape including free ends defining first and second tines. The resilient material of the staple is elastically deformable such that the staple may flex to change a distance between the first and second tines. The free ends are spaced apart a first distance in an unbiased state of the staple.

Medical device for port closure

A device for delivering a percutaneous nephrostomy plug is provided. The device comprises a tubular member configured for insertion into a biological body. The device further comprises a handle coupled to a proximal end of the tubular member. The handle comprises a pusher element, an actuation element, and a transmission. The pusher element is disposed within the tubular member, and is configured to deliver a plug through a distal end of the tubular member. The transmission is coupled to the tubular member and the actuation element, and the transmission is configured to cause a retraction of the tubular member relative to the pusher element in response to a depression of the actuation element. A first depression of the actuation element toward the tubular member urges a partial exposure of the plug. A second depression of the actuation element urges a further exposure of the plug.

Percutaneous nephrostomy plug delivery device

A drainage catheter includes an elongated tubular member, a locking assembly engaged with a proximal end of the tubular member, and a tension member for drawing a distal end of the tubular member into a desired configuration. The locking assembly includes a connector, a locking arm, and a locking mechanism. The connector has an exterior surface profile that corresponds with an interior surface profile of the locking arm. The locking arm is pivotably attached to the connector to enable pivoting movement of the locking arm between an unlocked position and a locked position whereby the tension member is secured between the locking arm and the connector when the arm is in the locked position. The locking assembly may alternatively comprise a connector and a sliding sleeve or a connector having a clamping element disposed therein.
