Embodiments of systems and methods are provided to monitor user presence, and manage various actions in response to user presence, within a system comprising multiple UPD-capable devices. In some embodiments, the systems and methods disclosed herein may collect user presence data from a plurality of UPD-capable devices, monitor the user presence data collected from the plurality of UPD-capable devices to accurately identify a user's presence, attention and/or engagement with a particular UPD-capable device, and manage various actions performed within the particular UPD-capable device based on said monitoring. In doing so, the systems and methods disclosed herein may reduce or eliminate problems that may otherwise occur when multiple UPD-capable devices are used within a system to monitor user presence.

A method may include capturing an image at a camera included at an information handling system, the camera coupled to a vision system. A position of a user relative to a display device may be determined based on analysis of the image by the vision system. The method may further include adjusting properties of an audio signal provided to a speaker based on the position of the user.

An information handling system (IHS) may receive, from a first sensor of the information handling system, first sensor data. The IHS may detect an individual other than a user of the IHS in a field of view of the first sensor based on the first sensor data. The IHS may then, in response to the first sensor detecting the individual, receive, from a second sensor of the IHS, second sensor data. Based, at least in part, on the first sensor data and the second sensor data, the IHS may determine relevance of the individual to an application displayed on a display of the IHS. The IHS may then generate an intent score for the individual based at least in part on the determined relevance. The IHS may then determine whether a security profile is to be applied to the IHS based, at least in part, on the intent score.

Embodiments of systems and methods for managing performance optimization of applications executed by an Information Handling System (IHS) are described. In an illustrative, non-limiting embodiment, an IHS may include computer-executable instructions to receive, by a personal audio device, a plurality of measurements associated with an audio dosage level incurred by a user over a specified period of time, and determine that a cumulative audio dosage level for the specified period of time is excessive. A first portion of the measurements obtained when the audio dosage level is generated by a first audio source and a second portion of the measurements obtained when the audio dosage level is generated by a second audio source. Additionally, the cumulative audio dosage level obtained by combining the first portion and second portion of measurements. When the cumulative audio dosage level is excessive, perform one or more remedial actions to reduce the audio dosage level.

An intelligent imaging device determines an occlusion of a shutter mechanism. The shutter mechanism opens to expose light to an image sensor, and the shutter mechanism closes to block the light from entering the image sensor. However, as the shutter mechanism transitions between full open and full close, the shutter mechanism is partially open and exposing the light to the image sensor. The image sensor continues generating images during these transitions, thus possibly revealing personal/sensitive data. The intelligent imaging device determines the shutter mechanism is partially open by conducting a real time, frame-by-frame content analysis. The intelligent imaging device may then disable an interface to the image sensor to avoid sharing personal/sensitive data. Even if the shutter mechanism is manually operated, the intelligent imaging device implements a visual/audible warning to warn a user that the shutter mechanism is not completely open or closed.

The method may further include receiving, at the software service, an alert signal from the TOF proximity sensor indicating movement proximate to the information handling system. The image may be analyzed by a vision system coupled to the camera to determine a gaze direction of a user at the information handling system. The processor correlates the metrics of an individual with the gaming performance metrics. Based on the correlation, the processor creates a gaming performance score. The processor provides the changes to the individual in a non-intrusive manner.

In some embodiments, an Information Handling System (IHS) may include a processor and a memory coupled to the processor, the memory having program instructions stored thereon that, upon execution, cause the IHS to: receive a measurement from an Ambient Light Sensor (ALS); determine that the measurement indicates an increase in ambient illumination equal to or greater than a threshold value; in response to the determination, receive an image from a charge-coupled device (CCD) sensor; extract illumination data from the image; and adjust the measurement in response to the illumination data.

A method may include enabling a camera to capture an image of a user operating an information handling system. An orientation of the user's head relative to a microphone may be determined based on the image. The method may further include retrieving a lookup table identifying attenuation of particular frequencies of human speech as a function of head angle. The method concludes by adjusting a gain of a signal received from the microphone to compensate for the attenuation, the adjusting based on the lookup table and based on the user's head orientation.
