A UE determines to perform a handover from a first source device in a first network to a first target device in the first network and from a second source device in a second network to a second target device in the second network (). The UE identifies a time interval for performing a first random access procedure with the first target device in the first network (). The UE initiates a first random access procedure with the first target device (). The UE performs a second random access procedure successfully with the second target device in the second network during the time interval (). The UE transmits or receives from the target device in the second network before the UE finishes performing the first random access procedure with the first target device in the first network ().

Parallel handover and failure handling

In one aspect, a remote device generates data for transmission to a network based on an application, selects one of a set of data routing options for routing the data to the network based on policy control information; each of the set of data routing options includes routing the data via a relay device; and transmits the data to the relay device for routing the data via the selected data routing option. In another aspect, a relay establishes a protocol data unit (PDU) session with a network for relaying data received from a remote device based on policy control information, receives data from the remote device, and transmits the data to a base station coupled to the network via the PDU session. This disclosure provides systems, methods and apparatuses for early measurement associated with configuring with multiple secondary nodes (SNs). In one aspect, the configuration of multiple SNs may be improved by allowing a master node (MN) to determine a multi-SN configuration based at least in part on measurements of actual channel conditions as seen by the UE. Enabling the MN to receive the measurement information early during a process associated with establishing a connection between the UE and the MN may thereby improve efficiency and reduce latency associated with the configuration of multiple SNs.

Radio (NR) early measurement with multiple secondary nodes (multi-SNs)

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications supporting network coordination during path switching and multi-path scenarios are described. For example, a first network entity may receive, from a first user equipment (UE), a measurement report indicating a degradation of communications between the first UE and the first network entity. The first network entity may transmit, to a second network entity, a request message to switch a connection between the first UE and the first network entity to a connection between the first UE and the second network entity. The second network entity may transmit, to the first network entity, an acknowledgment based on the request. The first network entity may configure the first UE for the new connection and the second network entity may configure the second UE for the new connection. The first UE may communicate with the second network entity via the second UE.

Network coordination during path switching and multi-path scenarios

In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may receive configuration information to configure a sidelink channel, to be utilized by the UE to conduct groupcast sidelink communication, with a plurality of bandwidth parts. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may detect an out-of-coverage scenario based at least in part on determining that a synchronization source associated with a wireless network is unavailable or has a signal strength that fails to satisfy a threshold. The UE may transmit, on a sidelink channel, a sidelink synchronization signal in a transmission period that includes a plurality of synchronization signal occasions based at least in part on the out-of-coverage scenario. In some aspects, the UE may transmit the sidelink synchronization signal according to a reduced duty cycle that causes the sidelink synchronization signal to be transmitted during fewer than all of the plurality of synchronization signal occasions. Certain aspects provide a method for wireless communication by a user-equipment (UE). The method generally includes receiving one or more configurations for sidelink discontinuous reception (SL DRX); determining an SL DRX pattern for a communication on the sidelink, based on the one or more configurations for DRX, the communication comprising a service for broadcast communication, a group of UEs for groupcast communication, or a UE pair for unicast communication; and communicating with one or more other UEs on the sidelink using the determined SL DRX pattern.

This disclosure provides systems, methods and apparatuses, including computer programs encoded on computer storage media, for uplink switching for enhanced mobility. In some aspects, this disclosure provides techniques for potentially reducing or eliminating service interruptions experienced during a handover from a source cell to a target cell. Additionally, this disclosure provides techniques for potentially simplifying or improving uplink communications while a UE is connected to both the source cell and the target cell during the handover. This disclosure further provides techniques for potentially reducing UE power consumption or improving uplink resource utilization during a handover from a source cell to a target cell while a UE is connected to both the source cell and the target cell during the handover.
