The UE may communicate with one or more other UEs using a lower layer groupcast key that is based at least in part on the common key, a parameter, and at least one of a group identifier or a destination identifier. The present disclosure relates to wireless communications, and more particularly to providing connectivity of a PC5 remote user equipment (UE) with UE-to-network (NW) relay access to the 5G core (5GC) via an IWF (e.g., N3IWF). In one aspect, a remote UE may be provided support for a network access stratum (NAS) connection with 5GC via an IWF. In another aspect, Access Traffic Steering, Switching and Splitting (ATSSS) support may be provided for a remote UE.

Techniques for supporting connectivity of remote user equipments with relay access via an interworking function

This disclosure provides systems, methods and apparatuses for early measurement associated with configuring with multiple secondary nodes (SNs). In one aspect, the configuration of multiple SNs may be improved by allowing a master node (MN) to determine a multi-SN configuration based at least in part on measurements of actual channel conditions as seen by the UE. Enabling the MN to receive the measurement information early during a process associated with establishing a connection between the UE and the MN may thereby improve efficiency and reduce latency associated with the configuration of multiple SNs.

Radio (NR) early measurement with multiple secondary nodes (multi-SNs)

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications supporting network coordination during path switching and multi-path scenarios are described. For example, a first network entity may receive, from a first user equipment (UE), a measurement report indicating a degradation of communications between the first UE and the first network entity. The first network entity may transmit, to a second network entity, a request message to switch a connection between the first UE and the first network entity to a connection between the first UE and the second network entity. The second network entity may transmit, to the first network entity, an acknowledgment based on the request. The first network entity may configure the first UE for the new connection and the second network entity may configure the second UE for the new connection. The first UE may communicate with the second network entity via the second UE.

Network coordination during path switching and multi-path scenarios

In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may receive configuration information to configure a sidelink channel, to be utilized by the UE to conduct groupcast sidelink communication, with a plurality of bandwidth parts. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may detect an out-of-coverage scenario based at least in part on determining that a synchronization source associated with a wireless network is unavailable or has a signal strength that fails to satisfy a threshold. The UE may transmit, on a sidelink channel, a sidelink synchronization signal in a transmission period that includes a plurality of synchronization signal occasions based at least in part on the out-of-coverage scenario. In some aspects, the UE may transmit the sidelink synchronization signal according to a reduced duty cycle that causes the sidelink synchronization signal to be transmitted during fewer than all of the plurality of synchronization signal occasions. Certain aspects provide a method for wireless communication by a user-equipment (UE). The method generally includes receiving one or more configurations for sidelink discontinuous reception (SL DRX); determining an SL DRX pattern for a communication on the sidelink, based on the one or more configurations for DRX, the communication comprising a service for broadcast communication, a group of UEs for groupcast communication, or a UE pair for unicast communication; and communicating with one or more other UEs on the sidelink using the determined SL DRX pattern.

In some aspects, this disclosure provides techniques for potentially reducing or eliminating service interruptions experienced during a handover from a source cell to a target cell. Additionally, this disclosure provides techniques for potentially simplifying or improving uplink communications while a UE is connected to both the source cell and the target cell during the handover. The present disclosure provides systems, methods, and apparatuses for maintaining continuity of a buffer status report (BSR) from a user equipment (UE) when the UE is handed over between base stations. In one aspect, a base station or a component thereof may be configured to allocate a set of resources for transmission by a UE. The set of resources may have a capacity that is insufficient for an amount of data indicated by a BSR from the UE. The base station or component thereof may be further configured to transmit, to another base station in association with handover of the UE, an indication that the capacity of the set of resources is insufficient for the amount of the data indicated by the BSR.

In some aspects, a base station may determine to transmit a pre-allocated uplink (UL) grant to a user equipment (UE), wherein the pre-allocated UL grant includes: a secondary node (SN) transmission configuration indicator (TCI) list, and a type 1 configured grant (CG). Random access channel (RACH)-less procedure

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may receive synchronization messages from a public cell that indicates synchronization information. The UE may input information received from the one or more synchronization messages into one or more functions provisioned at the UE to derive a set of control resources associated with a private cell. The UE may monitor the set of control resources to receive encrypted system information from the private cell. The UE may decrypt the system information of the private cell by deriving a cell specific broadcast key associated with the private cell. In some examples, the UE may derive the cell specific broadcast key based on the one or more functions provisioned at the UE. As such, the UE may transmit to the private cell via the set of control resources a random access message indicating successful decryption of the system information.
