Distributing video processing tasks, including: detecting an event condition at the information handling system, and in response: identifying a video processing task associated with the event condition; identifying contextual information associated with contextual inputs to the information handling system; identifying a particular configuration rule based on i) the video processing task, ii) the contextual information, iii) the computing capabilities of the first video processing computing module, and iv) the computing capabilities of the second video processing computing module, wherein each of the plurality of configuration rules indicates a processing configuration of the first video processing computing module and the second video processing computing module; applying the particular configuration rule to the first video processing module and the second video processing module; offloading, based on the particular configuration rule, the video processing task by the second video processing computing module performing the video processing task at the external video computing device.

Distribution of video processing tasks

Visual images projected on a projection surface by a projector provide an interactive user interface having end user inputs detected by a detection device, such as a depth camera. The detection device monitors projected images initiated in response to user inputs to determine calibration deviations, such as by comparing the distance between where a user makes an input and where the input is projected. Calibration is performed to align the projected outputs and detected inputs. The calibration may include a coordinate system anchored by its origin to a physical reference point of the projection surface, such as a display mat or desktop edge.

Continuous calibration of an information handling system projected user interface

Eye tracking across multiple displays is supported with re-definition of a gaze vector matrix that correlates a surface of a first display with detected eye gazes as inputs to an information handling system to include a surface of a second display. Eye gazes that correlate to the second display are mapped to the redefined gaze vector matrix, such as with a calibration performed by a user or an estimate derived from tracked eye gazes. The information handling system applies a map of display surface areas to the gaze vector matrix to sort reported eye gazes as at a location of the first display surface, a location of the second display surface or discarded as outside of either display surface.

Multi display eye tracking

A device management system includes a system management information handling system (IHS) that is coupled to a network. A first device is included in the device management system and is not configured to communicate with the system management IHS. A plurality of user IHSs are each configured to communicatively couple to the first device and are each configured to communicatively couple to the system management IHS through the network. Each of the plurality of user IHSs is configured to retrieve device information from the first device when that user IHS is communicatively coupled to the first device. Each of the plurality of user IHSs is configured to provide the device information for the first device to the system management IHS when that user IHS is communicatively coupled to the system management IHS through the network.

Device management system

A display device presents visual information with native and non-native resolutions stored in EDID and provided to a graphics controller. Non-native resolutions are generated in response to an object detected that interferes with the presenting of the visual information, such as an object between a projector and projection surface or an object placed on a capacitive mat display. The non-native resolutions present the visual information to avoid the object and are stored in EDID in association with object characteristics to allow re-use of the non-native resolutions when visual information at the display is blocked by an object with similar characteristics.

Dynamic display resolution management for an immersed information handling system environment

A totem device accepts inputs from an end user and communicates the inputs to an information handling system through a capacitive mat by moving an interactive portion of the totem relative to a main portion. In one embodiment, the capacitive mat integrates a display that presents input images proximate the totem, such as a volume gauge or mouse keys. Interactive portions include compressible materials that alter surface area pressed against a capacitive mat when pressed upon and plungers that move independent of a main body to press. In one embodiment, a camera captures images of the totem to enhance the distinguishing of inputs.

Information handling system interactive totems

A device manager at an information handling system analyzes end user interactions with peripheral devices to prioritize the peripheral devices based upon applications and display devices. The device manager monitors end user interactions with the information handling system to suggest a peripheral device for an end user to use based upon applications executing at the information handling system and the display device through which the end user interacts. For example, capacitive stylus and totem devices are suggested to aid interactions with capacitive mat display devices.

Context based peripheral management for interacting with an information handling system

Plural applications present visual information at plural windows with a cursor focus at one of the windows to direct inputs to the application presenting information at the window. In response to inputs at another application associated with another window, cursor focus changes to the other application and then automatically returns to the first application and window without a user command. Automated management of cursor focus is supported with sensors that detect conditions proximate a display that presents visual information and with user settings, such as a press and hold at an application that a user desires to retain cursor focus on an automated basis.

Dynamic cursor focus in a multi-display information handling system environment

Identifying characteristics integrated in a totem and detected by a capacitive display mat are applied to perform functions in response to end user inputs. Identifying characteristics include capacitive feet integrated in a totem bottom surface with identifying features including varying capacitive values for the feet, varying pad sizes and shapes, varying pad patterns and varying capacitive oscillation frequencies. In one embodiment, the surface area of the totem in contact with the capacitive mat varies depending upon the pressure placed on the totem to alter the shape of a compressible material disposed at the bottom surface.

Capacitive mat information handling system display and totem interactions

Desktop surface references are selected and applied to define a coordinate system for calibrating projected visual images and end user inputs at the projected visual images. For example, a desktop edge is detected with the depth camera by the increase in detected distance along the axis from the depth camera to the desktop edge, and then the desktop edge is used as an origin for a coordinate system that defines a projection area for presenting a user interface. Monitoring end user inputs and projected outputs relative to the desktop edge aids in coordinating interactions by a user through the projected user interface in the event the camera or projector move relative to the desktop surface.

Information handling system projected work space calibration

In accordance with the present disclosure, multi-user peer-to-peer collaboration systems and methods are described herein. An example method may include establishing peer-to-peer communications channels with end-user devices. Display signals may be received from each of the end-user devices over the peer-to-peer communications channels. Each end-user device may transmit a separate display of a separate peer-to-peer communications channel. A composite data stream may be generated from the display signals. The composite data stream may comprise a subset of the display signals. The method may further include outputting the composite data stream to a display device.
