Systems and methods of providing enriched call elements within outbound voice or video calls using rich communication services (RCS) are disclosed. The techniques include initiating a voice or video call from a first RCS-compatible device to a second RCS-compatible device, automatically sending an RCS invite or instant message including enriched call elements added from a business data server or from the first RCS-compatible device to the second RCS-compatible device, and presenting an indication of the enriched call elements to a user of the second RCS-compatible device concurrent with or prior to answering the voice or video call. Such enriched call elements may include location data, call priority data, call subject matter data, electronic images, or video clips.

Systems and methods for enabling messages to be modified are disclosed. The system can enable messages that have already been sent, and even messages that have already been read, to be edited, recalled, or deleted. The system can identify incoming messages with message identifications (IDs) that are associated with previously sent or received messages, or 'stored' messages, and modify the stored messages according to the content of the incoming messages. The system can include new SIP headers including X-EDIT-MessageID, X-RECALL-MessageID, and X-DELETE-MessageID. When an incoming message is received with a message ID associated with a stored message and/or one of the new commands, the receiving user equipment (UE) can replace the contents of the stored message with the contents of the incoming message or recall or delete the stored message.

Systems and methods for editing, recalling, and deleting messages

Example techniques described herein can permit interoperation between network terminals that have different performance characteristics, or that are connected via access networks having different performance characteristics. A calling terminal (or a core network device) can retrieve an indication of functional characteristics associated with a called terminal. The indication can be included in presence information associated with the called terminal. The calling terminal can determine a altered functional specification based at least in part on the functional characteristics and a functional specification of a session. The functional characteristics can satisfy the altered functional specification. The calling terminal can initiate a altered session with the called terminal via the network based at least in part on the altered functional specification. A terminal can detect network service provided by an access network and transmit presence information to a presence-information server. The presence information can indicate a type of the access network.

Terminal interoperation using called-terminal functional characteristics

Systems and methods for allocating quality of service (QoS) to real-time communication sessions between user equipment via a communication network are provided. Such systems and methods include identifying an encoding scheme to be used for the communication session, determining a QoS requirement for the communication session based upon the encoding scheme, and determining whether a general communication channel (e.g., a non-GBR channel) of the network meets the QoS requirement. When the general communication channel meets the QoS requirement, a corresponding bearer is used for the communication session. When the general communication channel does not meet the QoS requirement, a bearer associated with a dedicated communication channel (e.g., a GBR channel) is used. Thus, communication sessions using higher quality encoding schemes may be established through general communication channels, reducing congestion in dedicated communication channels.

Processes and systems for locking a NB-IoT device to a NB-IoT SIM before connecting the NB-IoT device to a cellular network are discussed herein. The NB-IoT device may include a status flag that determines whether the NB-IoT device requires a NB-IoT SIM to access NB-IoT-specific functions provided by a cellular network. In one example, a Group Identifier Level 1 (GID1) of the IoT SIM may be queried and compared against a reference value to determine whether the IoT SIM is an NB-IoT SIM, and if confirmed, the NB-IoT device may connect to a cellular network and access the NB-IoT-specific functions. In an example, an NB-IoT device associated with a status flag indicating that the device does not require an NB-IoT SIM may connect to a cellular network, but may not access NB-IoT-specific functions.

Embodiments described herein relate to a language translation services within a Rich Communication Services (RCS) messaging infrastructure to facilitate translating RCS message sent from an RCS-compatible sender device to an RCS-compatible recipient device or a legacy recipient device. An RCS messaging server (RMS) may detect a language value corresponding to a language preference parameter to translate the RCS message based on the language value. The language value may be passed to the RMS (1) from the sender device via an invite message of the Session Initiation Protocol (SIP), (2) from the recipient device via an accept message of the SIP, (3) from the RCS message itself, or (4) via communication with a home subscription server (HSS).

System and methods for auto-translating text messages

Technologies described herein include determining messaging services offered by a telecommunications service provider are enabled to facilitate an exchange of communication data between a first user device associated with a first user that is physically located in an aircraft and associated with a connectivity services service provider and at least one second user device associated with a second user. The technologies described herein can include, based at least partly on determining that the messaging services are enabled, receiving communication data from the first user device, accessing presence data from the first user device, sending the communication data to the at least one second user device, and causing the presence data to be presented on the at least one second user device.
