An electrolysis system with a buffer tank An electrolysis system for production of hydrogen and/or oxygen comprising a stack of electrolysis cells inside a pressure vessel (). Each electrolysis cell in the stack comprises a membrane (A,B) and a cassette () made of a bipolar plate () sand-wiched by a cathode (B) and an anode () forming a cathode compartment and an anode compartment on each side of the bipolar plate (). The stack is enclosed in a container constituting a buffer container for storing hydrogen released in the stack. The stack has an outlet constituting a hydrogen outlet for flow of hydrogen gas into said buffer container for filling the buffer container with hydrogen gas.

The present invention relates to a wind turbine blade comprising a lightning protection system with at least one tip end lightning receptor arranged at an outer surface of the blade and a down conductor extending within the blade. The blade comprises carbon fibre reinforced spar caps, wherein electrically conductive meshes are connected between the respective tip end of each spar cap to the tip end lightning conductor.

Devices, systems, and methods for modular molding of wind turbine blades are provided. Methods of molding wind turbine blades using a modular molding assembly or system and methods of substituting molds are provided. In some embodiments, a modular assembly includes a first base frame and a second base frame hingedly coupled to one another, a first tooling frame disposed on the first base frame, a second tooling frame disposed on the second base frame, a first shell mold coupled to the first tooling frame, and a second shell mold coupled to the second tooling frame. The first shell mold has a first mold surface and a first perimeter and the second shell mold has a second mold surface and a second perimeter. When in an open configuration, the first base frame is coplanar with the second base frame, and, in a closed configuration, the first perimeter contacts the second perimeter.

Modular molding units for fabrication of wind turbine blades

Devices, systems, and methods of improving heat transfer between a composite wind turbine blade surface are provided to reduce cure time. The assembly includes molds having heating wires disposed proximate the mold surface for delivering heat to the composite blade during layup and/or resin cure. Additionally, the vacuum bag disposed on top of the composite part includes a plurality of fluid channels for distributing a thermal fluid (e.g. heated/cooled water, air or oil) across the composite surface (opposite the mold surface).

A wind turbine blade assembly includes a first blade half and a second blade half fixed to the first blade half, defining a blade interior therebetween. The wind turbine blade assembly includes a shear web includes at least one aperture formed therein. The wind turbine blade assembly includes at least one bulkhead attached to the shear web, wherein the shear web and the at least one bulkhead are disposed in the blade interior. In some embodiments the at least one bulkhead includes a frame and a removable lid in order to expose the blade interior and the lid is returnably fixable to the at least one bulkhead. In some embodiments the first and second bulkheads include fluid conduits disposed therethrough and are spaced from one another to define first and second air circulation zones.

This invention relates to a wind turbine blade component, a method of manufacturing such a wind turbine blade component and a wind turbine blade comprising the wind turbine blade component. The wind turbine blade component comprising a stack of layers arranged in a first group and in a second group, wherein the layers of each group has the same width. The layers of each group is continuously offset in an edgewise direction to form a tapered edge profile. The first group of layers may be arranged relative to the second group, or in an alternating order. The layers of the first group may further have a first length which is greater than a second length of the layers of the second group.

Wind turbine blade and a method of manufacturing the wind turbine blade

Devices, systems, and methods of manufacturing wind turbine root attachment are provided. In various embodiments, an assembly for wind turbine root attachments includes a bushing, a core, and a filler. The bushing includes a body having cutouts extending from the proximal end to the distal end on either side of the bushing and a core cutout at the distal end. The bushing further includes an ear disposed at the proximal end of the bushing and within the first cutout. The core includes two wedges where the thick end of each wedge abut one another. The thin end of the proximal wedge is disposed within the core cutout and the core includes cutouts extending from the proximal end to the distal end on either side of the core. The filler is disposed within the cutout on the side of the assembly having the ear.

Wind turbine blade root attachment system and method of manufacture

A method of forming a wind turbine blade is provided which includes upper and lower blade mold halves, and a shear web having at least one aperture formed therein. A plurality of bulkheads are attached to the shear web and the shear web can be lifted and rotated, without need for a complex gantry/galactica apparatus, to be placed inside the lower blade mold. The upper mold half can then be closed with the shear web and bulkhead(s) disposed within the blade interior. A heating fluid can be pumped into the interior to pass through the bulkheads, circulating around the shear web and exiting the blade root with the assistance of a sump to pull the cold air outside the blade.

The present invention relates to a method and to a mould system () for manufacturing a shear web for a wind turbine blade as well as to a backing plate () for such method and mould system. The method involves arranging one or more fibre layers on top of a web mould part (), arranging backing plates () at each end to create a mould cavity between the first and second backing plate () and the web mould part (). Each backing plate () comprises an inner moulding surface (), outer surfaces () and a channel () or groove () extending between at least one of the outer surfaces () and the inner moulding surface (). Resin is supplied to the mould cavity via each channel or groove of the first and second backing plate (), and subsequently the resin is cured or hardened to form the shear web.

Method and system for manufacturing a shear web for a wind turbine

Devices, systems, and methods of improving manufacture of a composite wind turbine blade are provided to reduce cure time, and minimize consumable waste. After layup of a plurality of fiber panels along a blade mold, a pre-kitted vacuum bag can unrolled and overlaid on top of the fabric panels. The vacuum bag includes a plurality of fluid channels within the bag which have a pre-formed spring element embedded therein to allow for distribution a flowable resin to permeate the fiber panels and form a fiber-reinforced structural component, e.g. wind turbine blade.

The disclosure presents a wind turbine blade and a method of manufacturing a wind turbine blade, wherein the wind turbine blade is manufactured as a composite structure comprising a reinforcement material embedded in a polymer matrix, the method comprising: providing a first blade mould with a first blade shell part having a leading edge, a trailing edge, and a first leading edge glue surface at the leading edge, the first blade mould comprising a first leading edge flange; providing a second blade mould with a second blade shell part having a leading edge, a trailing edge, and a second leading edge glue surface at the leading edge, the second blade mould comprising a second leading edge flange; applying glue to a leading edge glue surface; providing one or more leading edge spacer elements at a leading edge flange; arranging the second blade mould on the first blade mould, such that the one or more leading edge spacer elements are arranged between the first leading edge flange and the second leading edge flange; applying a pressure to the second blade shell part; and curing the glue.

Rotor blade manufacturing arrangement

A method of controlling a wind turbine having a nacelle, a rotor, a rotating hub, a first rotor blade and at least a second rotor blade, both rotor blades being mounted to the hub. The method includes measuring the strain in the first rotor blade by a strain measurement device attached to the first rotor blade; and choosing the operational parameters of the wind turbine based on the measured strain such that fatigue damage of the second rotor blade is reduced. A wind turbine is controlled by such a method.

Control for a wind turbine

A method for manufacturing a component for a wind turbine is provided. In a first step, a fiber material is laid onto a mold surface. In a further step, an uncured foam material is provided on top of the fiber material. Thereafter, the uncured foam material is cured to form a core member. Then, a resin impregnating the fiber material is cured to form the component. Thus, a core member for a component of a wind turbine can be provided easily.
