A valve controller for a valve that comprises an actuator mechanically coupled to at least one flow controlling element. The valve controller comprises at least one pilot valve for controlling the position of the flow controlling element(s) by the actuator. The valve controller comprises a position sensor for obtaining a position signal indicative of the position of one of said at least one flow controlling element. The valve controller is configured to execute a configuration phase comprising establishing a pilot valve integer corresponding to number of pilot valves, and determining a tolerance criterion for the position signal based on the pilot valve integer. Valve controller and method of controlling a valve

A valve controller for controlling a valve and a valve comprising the valve controller are disclosed. The valve has an actuator and a flow controlling unit. The valve controller is configured to execute a setup process and comprises a first pilot valve that can energize the actuator by allowing a first pressurized fluid to enter the actuator and de-energizing the actuator by allowing the fluid to leave the actuator. The valve controller further has an input device by which the setup process can be initiated, and a memory unit for storing setup parameter values. The setup process comprises: determining parameter values indicative of the functionality of at least one of the valve controller, the actuator and the flow controlling unit, and storing the parameter values as setup parameter values in the memory unit.

A valve controller for controlling a valve and a valve comprising the valve controller are disclosed. The valve comprises an actuator and a flow controlling unit. The valve controller comprises equipment for controlling the function of at least one of the actuator and the flow controlling unit. The valve controller is further configured to obtain one or more first parameter values indicative of a functionality of the equipment at startup of the valve controller. The valve controller is configured to monitor the equipment during operation of the valve controller for determining one or more second parameter values indicative of the functionality of the equipment and determining if a change in functionality of the equipment has occurred based on a comparison of the one or more second parameter values with the one or more first parameter values.

Actuator for a seat valve or a butterfly valve which is of the type that is normally closed (NC) or normally open (NO), and also has a cylinder and a piston being held in the normal position by a spring. The spring includes a closed space with a pressurized fluid, and the actuator further has at least a top unit, with two or more connections for a pressurized fluid. The actuator is with one of the connections in the top unit that is connected to the inside of the cylinder through one or more openings at one end of the cylinder and another connection is connected to the inside of the cylinder through one or more openings at the other end of the cylinder. The top unit is designed to allow the connections to be interchanged by changing the position of the top unit, e.g. by turning the top unit 180 degrees around an axis corresponding to or parallel to the axis of the piston and cylinder.

The sidewall in the passage is in direct contact with the valve stem at the second section with the second cross sectional area.
