The invention relates to a method for a preliminary metallizing treatment of galvanized or zinc alloy-coated steel surfaces or joined metallic parts that at least partly have zinc surfaces, in a surface treatment encompassing several process steps. In the disclosed method, metallic coats of especially a maximum of 100 mg/mof molybdenum, tungsten, cobalt, nickel, lead, tin, and/or preferably iron are produced on the treated zinc surfaces. Another embodiment of the invention relates to an uncoated or subsequently coated metallic part which has been subjected to the disclosed preliminary metallizing treatment as well as the use of such a part for making bodies during the production of automobiles, building ships, in the construction industry, and for manufacturing white products.

Preliminary metallizing treatment of zinc surfaces

The invention relates to a metal sheet, or a component made of a metallic material, comprising a layer system on the surface with at least the following layers: a) a conversion layer, comprising no more than 1 mg chromium per m, b) a layer of a cross-linked organic polymer system with a thickness in the range of 0.5 to 2.5 &#x3bc;m, comprising, in relation to the total mass of said layer, 2 to 25 wt. % of an electrically conductive pigment having a specific weight of 3 g/cmmaximum, however no more than 5 wt. % of the electrically conductive pigment having a specific weight of more than 3 g/m. Conductive, organic coatings with low layer thickness and good plasticity

Process for the production on metal or plastic surfaces of thin, hydrolysis-resistant, scratch-resistant and stain-resistant coatings, wherein the coating material can be applied directly to the cleaned metal surface and subsequently cross-linked by high-energy radiation, in particular UV radiation. The substrates can be coated in the form of strip and only subsequently brought into the required external shape. Coated substrates such as these are no longer susceptible to staining by food, cleaning agents or fingerprints and can also be rendered antibacterial. Objects coated in this manner are thus suitable for use in architecture, for interior fittings of buildings, in furniture-making as well as for ornamental applications, and in particular in households, in sanitary applications, in hospitals and in the food-processing and pharmaceutical industries.

A chromium-free corrosion inhibitor containing at least one titanium, silicon and/or zirconium compound corresponding to general formula (I): in which Me is a titanium, silicon or zirconium ion, at least one other olefinically unsaturated comonomer containing at least two olefinically unsaturated double bonds per molecule, optionally other comonomers containing one olefinically unsaturated double bond per molecule, and at least one radical and/or cationic polymerization initiator that is activated by radiation.
