Method for sealing seams in shoes having an exterior upper with a lower end, an interior upper with a lower end, an insole with a circumferential edge, and a sole, the lower end of the exterior upper, the lower end of the interior upper, and the outer edge of the insole being sewn together, characterized in that a tape is selected that is provided on both sides with a layer that is adhesive at room temperature, and that this tape is used to join and fix the lower end of the exterior upper to the lower end of the interior upper before the exterior upper, interior upper, and insole are sewn together.

Method for producing waterproof seams

A waterproof shoe structure having an exterior upper (), an interior upper including a waterproof, water vapor permeable functional layer () arranged adjacent to the exterior upper () and a lining () facing the shoe interior, an insole () and an outsole (), wherein the interior upper has a lower end region () that extends at least for the most part beyond the lower end of the exterior upper, and which is joined on the one hand to the exterior upper () and on the other hand to the insole (). The lower end region of the interior upper that extends beyond the exterior upper () is folded outwards in such a way that the functional layer in the entire end region () is turned back on itself, and the interior upper has a lower edge arising from this folding, that the free end of the outwardly folded interior upper is joined to the exterior upper (), and that the lower edge of the interior upper is joined to the insole ().

Waterproof shoe structure with folded interior upper

A method for manufacturing a shoe structure including an exterior upper sewn at a lower end of the exterior upper lower end to an insole and an interior upper including a waterproof, water-vapour permeable functional layer and a lining, the interior upper having in the region of the sole, an inwardly folded end portion which is connected in a waterproof manner to the insole and has a perimetral edge enclosing an opening.

Method for manufacturing a waterproof shoe structure and shoe structure produced by said method

A shoe structure includes an upper made of an outer material, a waterproof and water vapor permeable functional layer, a lining, an insole, and an injection-molded sole. The upper has an extension made of a porous, permeable material and the insole is joined to the extension of the upper. The functional layer and the lining extend beyond a lower edge of the upper and only partially overlap the extension of the upper. The functional layer is spaced from an edge of the insole and the extension of the upper is penetrated by the material of the sole. A part of the functional layer extending beyond a lower edge of the upper is joined to the material of the sole, and a space between the functional layer and the edge of the insole is filled with the material of the sole as far as the interior of the shoe structure.

Waterproof shoe structure

Waterproof, water vapor permeable shoe construction including an exterior upper, a waterproof, water vapor permeable functional-layer upper, a lining upper, and a sole. Both the waterproof, water vapor permeable functional-layer upper and the lining upper are in the shape of a sock and introduced separately into the shoe. The functional-layer upper and lining upper are preferably joined to the exterior upper only at a top opening of the shoe construction through which a foot is inserted. The functional-layer upper can be composed of individual pieces that are joined together by seams that are sealed, or it can be seamless. The method for manufacturing the waterproof, water vapor permeable shoe has the steps of manufacturing a exterior upper; manufacturing a waterproof, water vapor permeable functional-layer upper in the shape of a sock; manufacturing a lining upper in the shape of a sock; inserting the functional-layer upper into the exterior upper; inserting the lining upper into the functional-layer upper; and applying a sole from underneath.
