A vacuum switching device for medium or high voltages contains two contacts. At least one contact of which is mechanically movably mounted by a drive rod and thus is in electrical contact with the drive rod. The vacuum switching device has a vacuum chamber in which the contacts are arranged. The vacuum switching device has a spring contact, which is outside the vacuum chamber, and the drive rod, when the contacts are closed, is in electrical contact with a power line via the spring contact, and in that the spring contact, when the contacts are open, is electrically insulated from the drive rod.

Vacuum switching device for medium- and high-voltage applications

A system for short-circuiting or grounding low-voltage and/or medium-voltage installations. The system includes at least one fault detection unit for detecting an arc and at least one signal-processing unit for processing signals from the at least one fault detection unit. The signal-processing unit is or can be connected to the fault detection unit for signal transmission. The system further includes at least one control unit which is or can be connected to the signal-processing unit for signal transmission, an electrical energy storage device in or on the control unit, and at least one fast-switching switching element having a mechanical energy store.

Arc extinguishing systems

A switching device in a vacuum switching tube or for arc quenching in gases. The switching device has an arc-quenching device. There is also described a method for operating a switching device in a vacuum switching tube or in arc quenching in gases, which switching device has an arc-quenching device for medium-voltage, low-voltage and/or high-voltage applications.

Switch having an arc-quenching device

A method for operating an electrical switching device and an electrical switching device are disclosed. In order to ensure reliable operation of an electrical switching device having parallel switching paths allocated to a phase, which have lower switching capacity in comparison to conventional parallel switching paths, the zero current crossings in the phase are detected and at least one switching mechanism, operatively connected to the switching paths, is actuated so that all parallel switching paths allocated to the phase open within a window of time which is in the phase relative to the zero current crossings.

Electrical switching device having parallel switching paths

A switch, in particular a grounding switch, is for quickly establishing a ground connection and for extinguishing an arc fault for a switching system. The grounding switch includes at least one fixed contact having a first cable feed, a moving contact, a contact guide having a second cable feed, and a mechanical energy store. In the opened state, an insulating distance between the fixed contact and the moving contact, is filled with insulation liquid, at least in part. The switch further includes a triggering device and a locking mechanism.

Quickly closing switch element

A device is disclosed for transmission of forces on a moving contact connecting bolt of a contact system including a switching unit with a moving contact and a further contact. The device includes an at least partially flexible conductor element for electrical connection of the moving contact connecting bolt to a connection of the switching unit and at least one first branch and a second branch. The branches are arranged for reciprocal current flow to generate an electromagnetic force. The invention the second branch is guided along and retained on a support plate firmly connected to the moving contact connecting bolt such that an electromagnetic force occurring in a short-circuit is introduceable between the first branch and the second branch for increasing a contact pressure exerted by a contact pressure spring in the moving contact connecting bolt, the support plate being slidably movable in the housing of the switching unit.

Device for transmission of forces

A drive, for a switching device including a contact system with a fixed and a moving contact, including an actuator for operating the moving contact for closing or opening the contact system, and also a mechanical transmission device arranged between the moving contact and the actuator. The transmission device includes a toggle joint mechanism formed by a folding lever, pivotable about a stationary bearing, and a coupling element, connected to the folding lever via a moving bearing. The toggle joint mechanism is pivotable between a first end position and a second end position. When the changeover is made from the first to the second end position or vice versa, a maximum extended position occurs. The coupling element holds the moving contact in that position which closes the contact system in the first end position and in that position in which the contact system is open in the second end position.

Drive for a switching device

A switching device includes a contact system having a movable contact to be moved along a movement direction, a stationary contact and an improved arc quenching device with a configuration for generating a magnetic field formed in a plane perpendicular to the movement direction and an electrode configuration having a first electrode conductively connected to the movable contact and a second electrode conductively connected to the stationary contact. The first electrode and the second electrode are disposed in such a way that an electric field can be generated between the first electrode and the second electrode perpendicularly to the direction of movement and perpendicularly to the magnetic field.

Switching device

A drive for a switching device having a contact system with a fixed contact and a moving contact, includes a force initiation element for initiating a drive force, an actuator for actuating the moving contact to close or open the contact system and a transmission disposed between the force initiation element and the actuator. The transmission allows both transferring the contact system from the closed to the open state and transferring the contact system from the open to the closed state to be triggered by a drive force in the same direction, making the drive cost-effective and compact.

A movable arm assembly for a circuit breaker includes a unitary structure having two blade portions being connected by a bend location. The bend location forms a gapless surface region. A contact is connected to the unitary structure wherein the gapless surface region and a contact surface of the contact are connected to form a joint therebetween. A method for forming a movable arm assembly includes forming a blank from a conductive sheet, the blank including a unitary structure having two blade portions, bending the blade portion at a bend location to form a gapless surface region at the bend location and joining a contact to the unitary structure on the gapless surface region at the bend location to form a movable arm assembly.

Moveable arm for a circuit breaker and method for making the same

Switch position indications and interlocks for power breaker circuits for air-insulated medium-voltage switchgear assemblies, having the functional features of power switching, disconnection and grounding. The switch position indications and interlocks are integrated jointly in control modules and are provided by indication slides and interlock slides which are guided in a center plate which is arranged between a front-face cover plate and a retaining plate facing the inner region of the power breaker systems, with the center plate having a number of guide openings matched to the positions and contours of the indication slides and of the interlock slides, the cover plate having a number of viewing openings matched to the positions and contours of the indication slides and of the interlock slides, and the retaining plate having a number of bushing openings matched to the positions and contours of the indication slides and of the interlock slides.
