An ophthalmological laser therapy positioning device which facilitates accurate positioning of the laser therapy system vis-à-vis the patient's eye. The positioning device includes a first and a second recording unit, which provide recording data from different recording directions, a displacement unit that displaces the relative position of the eye vis-à-vis an optical opening of the laser therapy system on the basis of control commands, and a control unit that generates control commands on the basis of the recording data. The positioning device furthermore may include a display unit for displaying the recording data and an input unit for inputting input data, the control unit in this case generates control commands on the basis of the recording data and/or on the basis of the input data and to provide the control commands to the displacement unit. Corresponding positioning methods are also included.

Positioning device

An ophthalmological laser therapy system having an appliance base and an appliance head, displaceable relative to one another by translational movement and having a laser device and to a corresponding method. A laser pivot arm is fastened to the appliance head pivotable about a horizontal first axis. The laser pivot arm is encompassed by a pivot arm housing, which is fastened in a separately pivotable manner on the appliance head in coaxial fashion relative to the laser pivot arm and/or by virtue of an examination pivot arm with an examination device, defining an examination volume, being fastened to the appliance head pivotable about a second axis, wherein both axes are arranged such that a work volume of a laser beam, when the laser pivot arm is in a work position, is a partial volume of the examination volume, when the examination pivot arm is in a work position.

Ophthalmological laser therapy system

A laser treatment unit for performing eye surgery, including a contact glass which can be placed onto the eye and through which a treatment laser beam () passes. A safety mechanism displaceably holds the contact glass such that the contact glass retreats when the contact glass is subjected to the action of a force contrary to the direction of incidence of the laser beam. The safety mechanism enables this retreating when a force is greater than a force limit value (F) and holds the contact glass in a fixed manner when the force is less than the force limit value.

Safety mechanism for laser treatment apparatus

An adapter for coupling a laser treatment device to an object for treatment. The adapter has an input side, which may be fixed relative to the laser treatment device, by a locking mechanism and which may be fixed to the object, for alignment of the object relative to the laser treatment device. A scanned laser beam is introduced on the input side, from the laser treatment device, along a beam path to the object with a reference structure. The reference structure lies on the beam path of the adapter and may be optically detected by means of the laser beam scanned over the region.

Laser treatment device

The invention relates to an adapter for coupling a laser treatment device to an object for treatment, whereby the adapter has an input side, which may be fixed relative to the laser treatment device, by a locking mechanism and which may be fixed to the object, for alignment of the object relative to the laser treatment device. A scanned laser beam is introduced on the input side, from the laser treatment device, along a beam path to the object with a reference structure. The reference structure lies on the beam path of the adapter and may be optically detected by means of the laser beam scanned over the region.

The invention relates to a laser treatment unit for performing eye surgery, comprising a contact glass (), which can be placed onto the eye () and via which a treatment laser beam () passes. A safety mechanism () is provided that displaceably holds the contact glass () in such a manner that the contact glass retreats when the contact glass () is subjected to the action of a force contrary to the direction of incidence of the laser beam. The safety mechanism () enables this retreating when a force is greater than a force limit value (Fmin) and holds the contact glass () in a fixed manner when the force is less than the force limit value.

The invention relates to a contact glass for ophthalmic surgery. Said glass comprises a lens body that is held in a frame and a front lens surface that is designed to be placed against the eye. According to the invention, the front lens surface is concave and follows a surface curvature (K) and an annular gap is formed at the edge of the front lens surface between the lens body and the frame, said gap being used to apply a negative pressure in order to fix the contact glass to the eye. The frame is designed to follow the contour of an imaginary continuation of the surface curvature (K), or at least does not project beyond the latter.

Contact glass for ophthalmic surgery

An adapter for mechanically coupling a laser processing device to an object. The adapter has a central region which can be moved into the beam path of the laser processing device and a peripheral region located outside the central region. The beam path extends up to the object along an optical axis. The adapter is fixable to the laser processing device on the one hand and provided so as to contact the object with its central region on the other hand. A fixture is provided at the peripheral region that allows the adapter to be releasably fixed to a receiving part of the laser processing device such that, upon application of a determined pulling force along the optical axis, the The fixture is removable from the receiving part.

Adapter for mechanically coupling a laser processing device to an object

An adapter to be applied in contact with an anterior corneal surface. The adapter includes a contact glass portion having a corneal contact surface curvature that is flatter than the undeformed anterior corneal surface. When the contact glass is applied the cornea assumes a deformed state corneal curvature that is parallel to the flatter corneal contact surface curvature. A mount portion circumferentially surrounds the contact glass portion and defines a suction duct that is structured to secure the adapter to the cornea by negative pressure when the suction duct is brought into contact with a surface of the eye surrounding the contact glass portion. The suction duct is partially defined by a peripheral edge of the mount that extends outwardly away from the mount portion and toward but not intersecting or extending beyond a geometric continuation of the corneal contact surface curvature.

Adapter for coupling a laser processing device to an object

A solution by which an examination of the cornea for possible encapsulations, air bubbles, or other irregularities following a refractive surgery can be carried out directly at the treatment device instead of the patient having to be transferred to an examination device. The additional slit illumination system includes two slit projector units substantially symmetrically mounted at an angle of about 40&#xb0; to the optical axis of the refractive treatment device, and fixed and focused on the eye of the patient to be examined. The slit projector units include a light source, a projection optical system, and beam forming and/or conducting optical components. Although intended for surgical microscopes, it can also be used for other opthalmologic treatment devices that would benefit from a slit projection system for the examination before, during, or after the treatment procedure.

Refractive treatment device with slit illumination

An adapter for coupling a laser processing device to an object, said adapter having a central region which can be moved into the beam path of the laser processing device, an illumination beam path through which illumination radiation can be guided for illumination of an object field which can be covered by the central region, and a peripheral region located outside the central region and by which the adapter can be mounted on the object and/or on the laser processing device, wherein the illumination beam path extends in the peripheral region and guides illumination radiation, coupled into the peripheral region, to the object field direct and/or via the central region.

An arrangement for laser coagulation at the ocular fundus with at least one illumination light source for an illumination beam path, with a laser arrangement for generating a sighting and therapy beam path, wherein the sighting radiation and therapy radiation have different wavelengths, with observation optics for visual observation of the ocular fundus, for selecting the coagulation site and/or for monitoring the results of coagulation, and with a protective mechanism which prevents the laser radiation from penetrating into the eye of the person administering treatment. An optical element arranged in the sighting and therapy beam path is provided as a protective device, wherein this optical element has a plurality of optically active areas whose optical characteristics differ from one another. In this way, an uncomplicated construction of the device which is characterized by an extremely high degree of safety for the treating person is achieved.
