A microscopy system allows to superimpose a light optically generated microscopic image of an object with an electronically generated image. The electronically generated image is composed of two input images, one of which is independent of optical settings of an ocular tube, such as a rotational position and a magnification thereof, and the other input image is dependent of the optical setting.

Microscopy system and microscopy method for plural observers

An operating menu is provided for display with a touch-sensitive display screen () in a surgical microscope (). The operating menu has a first operator-controlled area () wherein at least one touch-sensitive actuation field () is provided for adjusting a surgical microscope operating mode. In a second operator-controlled area () of the operating menu, a touch-sensitive actuation field () is provided with a function dependent upon an adjusted surgical microscope operating mode.
